Camp Leaders has been providing opportunities for young people to work at American summer camps since 1999, and has built a strong reputation in the summer camp industry based on the quality of our applicants, customer service, innovation and value.
Camp Leaders began as an alternative to other agencies for participants and camps who were looking for a more hands-on and user-friendly experience. With this in mind, Camp Leaders has grown from placing 100 UK participants, to helping over 4,000 people from across the world to secure a position at over 400 camps in 2010. From what we've learned about the industry and by working hand-in-hand with our camp directors, we have cultivated a deep understanding of the staffing needs of our clients and the type of applicants who will thrive as staff members at summer camp.
In 2010, seeing a similar opportunity to improve existing work and travel programs that provided participants a place to go, but not the support needed get the most out of theses experiences, Smaller Earth was born. Smaller Earth offers handpicked, meaningful opportunities from around the globe, making some of the world's most stunning and remote locations accessible to all. Smaller Earth endeavours to not only provide experience where participants can impact the lives of others but also the tools for young people to reflect, evaluate and leverage what they have learned throughout their lives in a positive way. Camp Leaders now operates as the flagship program of Smaller Earth.
"The best decision I ever made was to leave my hometown and travel the world. I worked and volunteered in cultures and countries I hadn't previously experienced. Since starting Smaller Earth and, before that, Camp Leaders, I have often heard that an experience through one of our programs has been life changing. I'm glad to hear that, obviously, but it does resonate as my years of travel and cultural immersion certainly changed me. I was a boy who hadn't ventured much beyond Liverpool. I had made overseas trips to Spain and to watch my football team play, but both types of trips simply transposed Britain or Liverpool to a sunnier place. Meaningful travel, however, opened my eyes and then gave me a new global perspective. It gave me opportunities to impact the lives of other people, make new connections, and the confidence in my own abilities to follow my ambitions and dreams. If I had never gone to the USA and worked at camp, I never would have started a company from my parents' kitchen table that now has offices in 12 countries and the intended goal of positively impacting 20 million people by 2020. - CEO Chris Arnold.
We are excited to show you why we are industry leading and to hear about your camp and the type of applicants that you are looking for.
