The Canadian Personal Chef Alliance (the 'CHEF ALLIANCE'), Canada's largest organisation of chefs, pairs with California's Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery ('E&J Gallo') to promote the art of pairing fine wine and gourmet cuisine.
Operated by Sonia Thapar since May 2005, a trained chef and marketer, the mandate of the CHEF ALLIANCE is to promote – more... the Personal Chef profession, develop educational training programs, establish industry practices and provide marketing tools for its members. CHEF ALLIANCE chefs account for servicing over 36,000 events per year, including culinary instruction classes, personal chef dates and catering events. The CHEF ALLIANCE currently distributes its Personal Chef 'Bistro Dinner for 4' packages as part of the lifeEXPERIENCES program throughout Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Ontario. Due to the success of package sales, Shoppers Drug Mart plans to offer the package in BC and Alberta in November 2005, and other provinces in 2006.
E&J Gallo was founded in 1933 by California winery pioneers Ernest and Julio Gallo, young brothers in their early twenties. Today, the winery is still owned and operated by the Gallo family, with three generations carrying on the tradition.
