Loved the people and the learning experience was #1
Research Assistant (Intern) (Former Employee), Seattle, WA – April 13, 2012
Pros: learning experience, yummy food in cafeteria
Cons: short period for job
A typical day at work would include culture generations, addition of necessary proteins to cultures. Flow cytometry analysis and development of data sheets.

I learned a lot of essential techniques for my future studies in immunology. My co-workers were incredibly helpful and cooperative during my learning process. The hardest part of the job was presenting – more... in front of the principal investigators, not because they were mean, but because I was nervous.

The most enjoyable part of the job was definitely when I finished the project and was able to analyze the data of my own cell cultures. – less

good experience with customer facing tasks, varied team work regarding processing stock ready to go out on to the shop floor
sales assistant (Current Employee), Ruislip – April 9, 2013
Pros: good all round experience
Cons: not many cons
I have learnt to take electronic transactions as well as refresh my skills using a cyber till through new training from our manager last year. I have also learnt cullying stock to turn it around so customers have something different to look through when choosing something.

Making sure everything is clear to abide with health & safety rules, also making – more... sure everyone has had a break/lunch.

Sometimes approaching local businesses for fundraising donations for certain Fun Days to ensure they are all prepared for raffle prizes. Some local shops are very helpful if we need any assistance especially if stock needs the tags removing from donations from corporate companies.

Sometimes there is alot to carry when ragging stock also loading the skip with rubbish. It is lovely to see our regular customers and to keep serving them and making their visit to our shop enjoyable and a good experience all round. – less

Enjoyed working here.
Worker (Former Employee), Hammersmith – February 9, 2013
Pros: very friendly co-workers
Cons: long hours
Of course the funds go to a great course which is self-rewarding in itself. Thoroughly enjoyed working here and was made to feel at home. A Typical involved dealing with a lot of service issues such as products being refunded, clearing and organising items in the back stock, and consistently cleaning the shop floor. I learned valuable communication – more... and people skills and my co-workers came were from all age-groups. – less

productive and fun working charity shop
sales assistant volunteer (Current Employee), Eastbourne – October 28, 2012
Pros: helps you give back and you help raise the money for cancer research
Cons: volunteer work so no pay
The team are great always good to have a laugh with and very hard working, a typical day involves sorting donations tidying up and pricing up items and working on the tills.
The management are fantastic friendly along with the rest of the volunteers you can easily loose track of time as it is a great place to be and the things you find to sell are amazing – more... , the hardest part has to be finding the time to do all the jobs you want to do. – less

i really enjoy working at cancer research never a dull day always busy. The hardest part of the job would be working on tills alone when there is alot of people. The most enjoyable part of the job would be all the people you get to meet. a typical day at work is usually operating the till or round the back pricing the items we get in.

nice environment to work
volunteer (Current Employee), Airdrie – October 17, 2012
Pros: good company
Cons: no pay
I am working with a vaiety of young and older volunteers. It is a good mix with a lot of fun banter, and time passes quickly. I am learning how to work a modern till, which incorporates computer skills. I am also brushing up on my customer service skills by serving the public. I enjoy the company and dont like the people who steal from the shop.
