The Canton Museum of Art seeks a highly qualified and polished development professional to lead the Museum’s multi-faceted fundraising programs, including government and foundation grants, capital and annual giving campaigns, endowment programs, and corporate sponsorships.
The Development Director will be responsible for creating a balanced fundraising strategy and executing all critical components, including: research, writing and follow-up for government and foundation grants; cultivation of major capital gifts and planned giving initiatives; developing and directing annual fund appeals; corporate relations and partnership development with community and regional businesses; special events for cultivation and maintenance of individual patrons and members; and managing the Museum’s donor database for reporting and marketing purposes. The Development Director reports to the Museum’s Executive Director, with collaborative relationships to the Marketing Director, Business Manager, and other staff.
The position is full-time with competitive benefits and compensation. B.A. in a relevant field is required; M.A. in arts administration or other applicable business degree preferred. Minimum of three years fundraising experience required, including grant-writing, with demonstrated success in achieving/exceeding goals. Nonprofit experience preferred, including solid understanding of nonprofit financial procedures.
Candidate should possess exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, strategic planning ability, and strong proficiency with MS Office and fundraising-specific software.
