I have been with the company for 8 years and I worked myself up to become the Manager on Duty for the Motel 6. It was a major part of my life and I will never forget that. My co-workers were all great members of the team. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to meet all kinds of guest. Anywhere from outside the country to within.

canvassing isnt for everyone, but it is a great work environment everyone is really cool and respectful and have became life long friends of mine. The most enjoyable part is all of the people you work with it and the hardest is the canvassing, it can be really fun and easy but like i said it isnt for everyone
Job doing very meaningful work with supportive people

We would review our goals and canvass public places searching for fundraising and voter support for our causes and ballot initiatives. I learned how to approach people with confidence and persuasiveness and to be resilient and try harder no matter what. My co-workers were supportive and we all had each other. The management was not the best. It was a sink-or-swim attitude toward canvassers and it led to people leaving often. The hardest part of the job was the financial insecurity and the constant rejection from strangers, even abuse. We all did it because we believed in our cause (gay rights) and wanted a better world, and the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting people who thanked us for being out there and fighting for them.
great conversations, actually doing something about political and social injustice.
no insurance, very low pay, very hard job to do everyday.
