Data Collections Officer, Junior Level - October 30, 2014
I start work at 7:45am and finish at 5pm every week day. I deal with different issues from orphans and vulnerable children, since it is a charity organisation. If I am not in the office that day I am in the field visiting those children training them on various life changing issues, and monitor how well they are doing in their day to day living. I have learnt that dealing with people requires compassion and a self less spirit. My professional skills have improved tremendously. I have learnt how to be assertive, how to handle other peoples' emotions. I learnt to be a very good team player as well because our nature of work requires cooperation and communication between the person in the field and the one who is in the office. My co-workers are very cooperative people. The most difficult part of the job is the orphans and vulnerable children are very mobile and there is need to be delicate and careful when it comes to payment of their fees. Sometimes there is need to maintain proper records to avoid costs. There is need to communicate properly with external stake holders so as to maintain a good image of the company. The most enjoyable part of the job is that it helps me to serve people because I have a passion to serve people, the trainings we do help me to strengthen my interpersonal skills.
