Loss Prevention Officer, Roselle, IL - September 16, 2015
My day would consist of going into work, watching customers, and seeing if anyone would steal from the store. I learned that anyone who steps onto my floor is a person I must watch. Everyone is suspicious, and I must observe everything. It really sharpened my observational skills. Management was alright, but they never posted the schedule for each week until the last day of the week. So I would not know if I worked the following Sunday until Saturday. It made planning much more difficult. My co-workers made time fly by, and they were all great people to get along with. The hardest part of the job is realizing that you cannot catch everyone and there will always be something that slips by you. It is a mental game. Plus, since there will be days that no one will try to take anything, it can be pretty dull. The most enjoyable part is the thrill of when you do catch someone. They always have no excuse for trying to take it, and it helps the store keep people from taking things.
