Retail management can be manipulative and degrading. Regional VP (initials R.D.) has a long family history of workplace screwballing and gets help from a handful of her direct managers to assist. Cons: have to start off as part time
I have worked for CapFed for five years and it has overall been a great place to work. They train you and you continue to learn throughout your time with the company. If you want to learn something then someone is always willing to teach you. There is also a lot of opportunities for advancement.

I have heard that CapFed doesn't pay as well as other – more... banks but they have great benefits that a lot of jobs don't have. They give you paid time off after 90 days, you are eligible for insurance as soon as you're hired, and they give raises yearly.

You do have to start off as part time though. Once you're hired as part time then they would LIKE you to stay in your position for 6 months but if a full time position opens up then you can apply even if your 6 months isn't finished.

Another awesome thing that CapFed did for me personally is they let me come back to work multiple times. I worked for CapFed in high school and when I left for college they still let me come back to work for my summer breaks and they hired me back once I graduated college. – less

A great bank for over 120 years with loyal customers

On a typical day I conduct transactions, offer products and services,and balance cashbox and transactions. I learned that knowing your customers makes them feel welcome and safe for the bank to handle their money. The management and my co-workers are terrific! They are supportive, helpful, and patient. The customers were usually enjoyable and co-workers always worked to help each other. I learned so much about banking in the short time I had with Capitol Federal. The management staff never hesitated to answer any questions even if they did not relate to the teller position. Enjoyed going into work everyday and working with people

Pros: working with people, consistantly busy
Cons: didnt happen to have very many at this job
A typical day at work would consist of helping customer with all transactions from a simple deposit to the ordering of travellers checks.

We would do deposits, withdrawls, money orders, personal/bankers checks, tranfers, cash from credit cards, payment of their mortgages, and most importantly handling any and all problems that needed to be taken care – more... of to make sure that the customer left happy and with their problem resolved. – less
