work hard play hard
Assistant Manager (Current Employee), 463 highway 53 Calhoun, Ga. 30701 – May 9, 2013
Pros: free lunches, playful environment
Cons: the hours that i have to work
A typical day at work for me is when i go in i get to see the customers. I like to cut up sometimes, but also when it's time to get down to work i work. I learned that sometimes customers aren't always right but would never say that. Also i can run a shift by myself, teach employee's and train other management. i have been in management for 8 yrs give – more... or take. i love what i do, working in the kitchen or on the counter when needed. i love working with my co-workers because the long term ones like me have become my second family. the most enjoyable part of the job is when seeing regular customers from when they was a baby and how much they have grown up over the years. And saying to a new employee that i remember when he/she was a baby coming in to eat. – less

Fun and enjoyable place to work
Cashier (Former Employee), Sparta, TN – May 7, 2013
Pros: meeting amazing customers
Cons: management
Typically I took orders my whole shift. I always made sure I kept the dining room and drive through stocked with sauces and such. I learned to juggle two tasks at once. My management was poor, mainly because everyone made cliques. I loved being able to make my customer smile with my friendly service.

It pays some bills
Assistant Manager (Current Employee), Hudson, NC – April 29, 2013
Pros: free food, flexible schedule
Cons: bad pay, unequal treatment between employees
My day at Captain D's can be fun but difficult. It really all depends who's slack I have to pick up. I can have people on my shift that work well and do what they are told. But there are other assistant managers that may work with me and do not carry their own wait. The male assistant managers are usually treated better than females managers. The general – more... manager is very reasonable. But when he isn't around the other male assistant managers tend to take over/ run over everyone. The hours are very flexible. I am there five to seven days a week and very under payed for the amount of work I put in. I enjoy most of my con-workers, aside from other assistant managers. I'm told that the employees that work with me enjoy there time at work when I am there. I learn to solve many problems on my own and how to manage time and a store. The hardest part of my job is just doing so much work and not being appreciated for it. It's just looked over. And the pay is terrible. I work way harder than what my pay check shows. I like to have time with my loved ones but being a student and an assistant manager isn't easy, but I do my best and work hard for everything I have. – less

Overall alright place
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Mount Juliet, TN – April 11, 2013
Pros: manager meals are free. great insurance. bonuses if you meet certain goals as a store
Cons: only one cashier after peak time, and we normally got busy after peak time
Captain Ds is a good company to work for. I was in management and had great benefits. Company policies changed a bit, but what company doesn't change their policies. My only complaint, and not every store has this, but my general manager was awful. She disrespected the employees and talked down to them. Corporate was good though...definitely room for – more... advancement. . – less

Friendly, fast paced enviroment
Cashier/Cook (Former Employee), Cedartown, GA – April 8, 2013
Pros: fast environment, plenty of time to learn new things
Cons: not many benefits
Mostly slow days, with every lunch hour increasing to the point of a flurry of activity. Management was very friendly and very clear in their expectations, and the co-workers were for the most part very welcoming and able to do their jobs.

Great for gaining experience in customer service
Cashier (Current Employee), Statesboro, GA – April 3, 2013
A typical work day starts with correctly counting my till, beginning to take customers' orders and make sure the kitchen staff knows exactly what the customer expects. I continue the day delivering the food and making sure each customer is having a pleasant dining experience. I ensure that the counter and dining area stay sanitary during the day. By – more... the end of my shift, I stock all of the condiments and see to it that the next cashier has everything they need to begin their shift. I learn how to handle costumer situations professionally each day. Our management staff is efficient and helpful. Co-workers are very productive and content in the environment. There isn't a hard part of this job. The most enjoyable part of this job is seeing how pleased the customers are with due to my friendliness and helpfulness. – less

Decent Work experience.
Hostess (Former Employee), Commerce, GA – April 1, 2013
Cons: hours were severely cut to force me to quit because i could not afford to drive to work anymore.
I would clean the dining area of Captain D's Seafood, and during busy times, I would help guests find available seats. I would get refills for guests. I also would keep the condiment stand fully stocked.

fun place to work
Waitress (Former Employee), Petersburg, VA – March 25, 2013
Pros: 15-30 min breaks
Its a great place to work management is good and you get 3 free meals when you first start working. I didn't like my hours other then that you could never complain. I loved all my co-workers and especially my favorite customers who used to come in and ask for me to seat them and serve them. They were highly Satisfied.

Great First Job
Crew Member (Current Employee), Gainesville, GA – March 20, 2013
Pros: meeting new people
Cons: pay
A typical day at work would be walking around greeting people and talking to others also taking orders. I have been learning how people like to be treated when entering a work place. Co-workers are people you really wont to get along with no matter what cause they are their everyday.

Fast pace enviroment always quick, fun and busy!
Cashier (Former Employee), Perry, GA – March 20, 2013
Great manager she made sure enough food was prepped for each day, food was fresh and hot always, co-workers always worked as a team to get customers satisfied with their orders, and suggest special promotions and sales. It was my job as a cashier to be a waitress as well. It was our job to suggest more sauces, drinks, additional orders, napkins, etc. – more... Checking the ice machines, bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, and stocking was always the number 1 priority. – less
