good ole boy network and good pay
dispatcher (Former Employee), new iberia,laAugust 17, 2013
Pros: good company
Cons: no training on systems, supervisors have lack of job knowledge, favoritism towards a certain ethnicity is very obvious
well if you are looking to come here just know the most the turnover is pretty high you will have to teach yourself everything and expect to not make any mistakes or you will be written up or fired the supervisor cannot help you with questions you may have and if you are not apart of the "chosen few" you will be left in the dark on everything that goes – more... on. some people have to work more than others the scheduling in unfair as well as the treatment the "chosen few" receives training docs on all new changes while the lets just say "darksiders" have to figure it out or it unemployment line you go i'm surprised there is a ethics investigation going on as we speak they only hire family or friends to management positions no matter the job background or experience while the "darksiders" with the experience are expected to be quite and take it. if you are not friend or family forget about moving up no matter how hard you work it will be ignored there is a lot of backstabbing and throwing under the bus. this would be a great job for a great company if those in charge would change the unethical culture and get read of all this favoritism foolishness and start working as a team but i'm sure this will not happen no time soon – less

Very intense environment when it comes to safety
Utility Operator (Current Employee), New Iberia, LAJuly 14, 2013
Pros: benefits
Cons: shortage of workers
A typical work day involes alot of problem solving. Turn over rate is not high but there is a shortage of workers due to the company not hiring fast enough to keep up with the growing rate of the company. As far as coworkers they are very helpful but they have to deal with certain management team members pressuring them to lend a helpful hand in trying – more... to terminate certain employees that they dont like. There is not any room for growth with the company but it is still a good company to get started in the plant environment. – less

supervisors & management in Marshfield, WI plant does not understand sand industry, work irratic hours (one week no orders/no work next week 12 hr days 7 days week) would not suggest working here for ANYONE.

You'll be stuck in one position forever
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee), Houston TXSeptember 11, 2012
Pros: pretty good salary and benefits
Cons: no flex time
No chance for advancement ever - what ever position you're hired for is where you'll be until you leave. They would rather hire outside than promote in the office. I believe they promote at the plant level but not in the offices or administration. They also play favorites..alot. No real training either - just sits you down at your desk and that's it. – more... They try to have once a year supervisor training - that's about it. I had to learn SAP all on my own..had to ask alot of questions. The programmers try to train you but, they want to tell you how it all works behind the scenes - I need to know how to do my job in SAP. The hardest part of my job is coming to this place and the most enjoyable is when I leave! – less

Great company to work for.
Control Room Operator (Former Employee), McIntyre, GAJuly 26, 2012
We worked 12 hour shifts. I monitored entire plant operations, notified maintenance of plant upsets, worked closely with other team members, and achieved company production goals.
