For the most part work is performed during a normal work day with a great team of smart energetic people. I was challenged consistently but not overtly.
However, at some point it became expected to coming into work at all hours of the night, weekends, and holidays to fix the most trivial issues. Without comp time. They have an open-ended vacation time policy but I found I could never get more than 1 week off every year. It was OK to take a day off, but if anything happened (and their systems are running on 7 year old hardware, so it happened often) you had to drive into the office (due to security in banking, no remote access) I was always willing to help the company exceed but there was never a line drawn in the sand on when you didn't have to drop your entire life and get a task done.
The company is growing, and these issues may fix themselves once they get more staffing (I hope)
Bonuses are great for people who stay for the long haul (5+ years) but low for newer employees. Stock options are no longer given to employees either.
