Established in 1989, CareSource is a nonprofit Medicaid managed health care plan serving consumers in northeast, southwest and central Ohio. CareSource contracts with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to serve consumers of Covered Families and Children Medicaid, including Healthy Start and Healthy Families, exclusively.
As a managed – more... health care organization, CareSource focuses on prevention with a goal of improving member health and the quality and accessibility of health care services for Medicaid consumers. CareSource assists in the coordination of member care by partnering with a defined network of participating doctors, hospitals and other health care providers.
