This used to be a great company with a great culture. CareTech was sold two years ago to a foreign company. Since the sale, the comany has gone downhill. Work loads increased, raises were frozen. Management would tell you one thing one day and say something completely different the next day. We were promised spot bonuses by management to work non-preferred shifts. Many people did not see that spot bonus money.

Flexible hours, Friendly co-workers, Great for developing skills such as: multi-tasking, typing speed, talking to clients
Cons
On the lower end of pay for Help Desk work, Longer you work there the more difficult your job becomes, Not in touch with lower level staff and their needs
Advice to Management
Your hourly workers are your product you sell to companies. Treat them right, or you run the risk of essentially ruining your own product.

Productive workplace with great people .

I love CareTech , my pay rate is not what i deserve but overall this is a good company to work for as a student. As a full time student and full time worker caretech has allowed me to manage the both. Tuition reimbursement and flexible shif arrangements has allowed me to be a loyal team mate with the company simply because they work as hard as me to keep up with production.

No job advancement, they want you to take on more responsibilities but do not pay more.
Caretech was bought by a Hindu and now they are moving our jobs to India.

They essentially chain you to your desk and time you when you take a break or go to the bathroom. Pay is not very good. Hard to move up also

I was placed at CareTech through Epitec to fill a contract to hire position for a Messaging Solutions Engineer.

CareTech extended an offer to work full-time with their company which I accepted.

As a Messaging Solutions Engineer, I not only supported Microsoft Exchange for the company, but for several health systems the company supported as well.

I wasn't with CareTech that long but for the most part, it was a pleasant experience.

The most difficult aspect of working for CareTech was I was hired to work on Messaging solutions - Exchange, Trend, Blackberry, yet they were asking to fill in for on-call for other duties I had no knowledge of at the time.

CareTech Solutions is a great place to start your IT Career. You will learn a lot about windows 7 , and MS Office. Learned a decent amount about some EMR systems and how they function. The best part is the people. If you don't know how to fix an issue , they will help you out till you are able to do so. However somethings just can't fixed over the telephone.

Not a bad place to work. They are very flexible with hours making it a great place to work while attending school. Decent compensation for what is available in the marketplace. Work can be stressful, but most jobs have this flaw. Great opportunities for advancement, Caretech is a notorious hire from within company. Another great perk is pay promotions are entirely performance based.

This place hires just to have a body behind the phone when someone calls the Helpdesk. A lot of people here have no technical knowledge or experience. The actually competent workers suffer the most and make well below what they are worth. They seem to give you raises or promotions (very few) based on if you are in the "clique" here or know someone. Very buddy buddy here.

Good place to work overall. Executives should pay more attention to the help desk employees. Especially the ones who work very hard to improve the overall productivity. Executive walks around with his face in his cell phone and does not even look at you when you say hello. Other than that, a great place to work and you are surrounded by hard working employees who show you respect as business professional and willing to help in any way.

Caretech consists of great ideas with bad execution. They are an IT company in the healthcare business, so they will always be around and continue to grow. The compensation does not match the workload, and all employees complain every day.
