Productive and fun place to work
Anonymous (Current Employee) –  United StatesOctober 31, 2015
A warm office environment that takes care to do well by the business and its employees. All are encouraged to seek opportunities and continue learning. As with all larger companies, some inefficiencies in the system.

Worst place I had ever worked based on management, undereduacated staff, work enviroment
Lead Operator (Current Employee) –  Fresno, CAOctober 26, 2015
Due to the lack of education to upper staff workers were often injured, given jobs that were lower then there education level and sometimes higher. I would not recommend working at this location only as a last resort.

Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Ottumwa, IAOctober 21, 2015
You are always moving with this job, but thats not a bad thing. The typical day at work is coming in and clocking in. Afterwards you had to wear your personal protective equipment. Then work begins.
Pros
movie tickets
Cons
no real time with family

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (Intern) (Former Employee) –  Linden, INOctober 19, 2015
If you know anything about this company you know that they care about the safety of every single employee. They not only focus on your safety at the workplace but also your safety in your everyday lives.

Wonderful place to work. Great Benefits.
Accountant (Current Employee) –  Wichita, KSOctober 19, 2015
This is a great place to work. They are very supportive and help you achieve your personal career goals. They also have programs to help you in your personal life. Depending on which business unit you work for will determine the amount of red tape and politics. In the smaller business units everyone works as a team, even upper management. There is a good work / life balance.

Good stepping stone to Batch Blending
Batch Process Technician (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILOctober 17, 2015
This job could be a great place to work and get experience in the refinery field. Management is lacking in the Chicago plant. This job has a lot to offer for getting starting in the field. Batch blending, Distillation, Running lab analysis, Loading and Unloading truck and railcars, Control and Monitoring process and plenty of trouble shooting.
Pros
Safety conscious environment
Cons

Working as Contractor
MRO Materials CRUD Processor/SAP Plant Maintainer (Current Employee) –  Wichita, KSOctober 14, 2015
The work culture is pretty awful, you do learn a lot about business and information technologies but it would be an awful experience for someone who would be a woman or minority. Contractors are typically seen as 3rd class citizens and advancement only comes through multiple years of work hard work. I would recommend doing an internship rather than a contract experience. It would be completely different experience.
Pros
Learning Alot
Cons
Contract Experience/ not a healthy environment for women or minorities

Doesn't want you to advance.
Beef Finance Division, Financial Analyst Assistant (Former Employee) –  Wichita, KSOctober 10, 2015
Like any big corporation, the subsidiaries do not always follow company policies and the parent company is out of touch. Management wants employees to stay in a position forever and does not encouragement advancement or advanced education. The best way to advance is through networking not doing a good job. Cargill does try to promote charity.
Pros
Vacation time
Cons
Hard to advance.

customer specialist (Current Employee) –  ohioOctober 6, 2015
The people were very stuck up, gossiped constantly and not a good work environment. It is not a good company and they say there is longevity however not at all. Discrimination and just not a good company to work for.

Senior Network Engineer (Contractor) (Former Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNOctober 4, 2015
Cargill is family-owned, and thus, workers are seen as part of the family; however, an employees are expected to demonstrate mastery of tasks and subject-matter, and should be familiar with new developments in the industry.
