Quality Control Technician (Former Employee), Plainview, TX – February 15, 2013
Pros: insurance benifits, good pay
Cons: short breaks
I worked Monday-Friday 4:30am-2:30pm. I worked in the QC department which was a hourly management position. My job title was a SSOP monitor/backup lead man.My job consisted of checking room temps, sterlizers, personnal hygiene, housekeeping and food safety. I worked real closely with the USDA and did a lot of paperwork. Everyday I learned something new – more... which I loved about my job. All of my co-workers got along really good they were my 2nd family. – less

Very stressfull
Production and Operations Associate Supervisor (Former Employee), Plainview, TX – February 12, 2013
Very stressful job, upper management views you more as a number or statistic then as a actual individual. Consistently felt threatened by my job status over plant or industry issues. Upper management never takes full responsibility, typically will dump it on lower individuals.

I was able to accomplish my goals
HARVEST SUPERVISOR (Former Employee), Plainview Division – February 10, 2013
Pros: have the recognition program.
There is always an opportunity for you to reach whatever goals you have set for yourself.
At Cargill I had all the support I needed to accomplish what my goals was.
When I got hired at Cargill, I was told that if I was hired had to bring the daily yields from being the last place to be # 1 within the 6 plants.
My goal was reached within a month.

Large Company That Is Involved In Many Businesses
Sales (Current Employee), Field, US – January 22, 2013
Pros: ethical, solid reputation, very large company
Cons: complicated org. structure, below market compensation
Very large, privately held company. Strong culture of ethics, integrity in business transactions internally and externally. This is a commodity trading, ag supply chain, and food ingredient company so compensation isn't what you would find with a CPG or other manufacturing companies. Their marketing is also a weak point for a $130 Billion company.

Process Operator/Lead (Former Employee), Sidney, OH – January 17, 2013
Pros: lots of carry ins, catering, job recognition, and prize drawings for attendance
Cons: long hours, weekends, mis communication, lots of hostility among co workers.
you never know what your coming into. its always a challenge which keeps your job interesting. i like operating and thinking on my toes. cargill offers quick advancements, different job placements, pay increases, vacation, and tuition reimbursement. the down side to all this is management. i feel they all want to go there own direction and i don't think – more... its good for the company. the communication is horrible and confuse the employees on what there job tasks are to be. – less

Cargill
Production Supervisor II (Current Employee), Fayetteville, NC – January 13, 2013
Cargill, Inc is an excellent company that values its employees and completes business with strong ethics. Depending on your role or field (finance, operations, etc.), work like balance can be one of the most difficult factors. Locations are rural, as the company is strongly focused in agriculture and commodities.

Enjoyed most parts of the job
Shackel Release (Former Employee), Wyalusing, PA – January 4, 2013
Pros: learning to use a knife and working on a line
Cons: saftey
I enjoyed working with the people I worked with. I learned how to use a knife safely around other people. I was a fast learner on the skinner job. My day would be sharpening my knives, skinning out hind quarters on the line with 3 people on my job. My co-workers and myself was very safety concious. Hardest part of the job was unshackling the cows.

Cargill
Short Ribs (Former Employee), Friona, TX – January 2, 2013
Pros: very good pay.
Cons: management
A typical day at Cargill. I would have to say very stressful and tiring. Ive learned that hard work pays off. Management could improve. Co-workers are very friendly and helpful. The hardest part is having to deal with the cold for 9hrs. The enjoyable part of the job is the fact that cargill takes care of you.

Forklift Driver/Palletizer/Laborer/Lead man (Former Employee), Dodge City, KS – December 21, 2012
Pros: discounts on meat products, shift pay, family time
Cons: slept during day
Clock in and get information on any special orders needed for the night. Inform other employees what position the will be working at that night. Get paper work needed for the trailer that is in the door to be finished. Load trailers and check paper work with employee in office to ensure the trailer is loaded with all the proper product. I honed my leadership – more... skills to help ensure that work being done by all employees is acceptable to the customer. The co-workers are willing to help were its needed to get the job done in timely manner. The hardest part of the job, is when certain product was put on the wrong trailer and you have to find that product to be removed and place it on the correct trailer without damaging any other product. The most enjoyable part of the job was that i worked nights, which let me spnd time with my family before and after work. – less
