Cargo Chief is a new service that is uniquely an aggregating freight broker which is designed to provide customers/shippers the best level of trucking service and pricing by working with load boards, other brokers, consolidators and websites. Many have commented that Cargo Chief and the trucking industry have many parallels to Kayak.com and airline travel. We are an early stage startup that is growing our team, our services and customer base for this giant $293B industry that experiences highly varied quality of service and erratic pricing.

Job Description:

Cargo Chief is looking for a business leader to grow our sales now that we are ready for business. You will report to our CEO, and work other customer-oriented team members to close early customers directly, and establish a national network of high commissioned “Agents” that will close business for you and Cargo Chief. You will generate awareness of Cargo Chief’s price and service advantages and also gather input as to updates customers are requesting. You will be supported by a team of experts in freight and logistics, operations, technology and B2B marketing. Over time you will grow a sales organization that generates a significant annual revenue stream for Cargo Chief.

A successful candidate has confidence to establish business with new customers with our unique approach, while working in a dynamic workplace. You will work initially at home and then at the office the team will locate. Also, like the rest of the team, you will share in the revenue generated until you and Cargo Chief close Series A. Cargo Chief requires a dedicated full time professional effort for this critical role.

Qualifications:

  • 3 Years of successful start-up sales experience
  • Experience in establishing a network of agents or independent representatives
  • Success in recruiting, developing and managing a sales team
  • Planning and forecasting know-how
  • Strong organization
  • Aggressive, "hunter mentality" and results-oriented mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Persuasive presentation abilities
