does it matter? (Former Employee), San Diego, CA – February 12, 2014
Pros: helping people to drive
Cons: management, false promises and expecations, will only help customers when threatened with action.
If you can get by the fact that management requires requires you to learn several scripts word for word and are very unprofessional, you might be ok. you will also have to get by the client base also. You will only know what that means if you decide to accept a job with this hack company. They are the epitome of basic office politics when it comes to – more... who they are going to keep working for them and who they will promote, and they do not try to hide it. If you love helping people and thats your thing, you will see the good that can come from it, but the managers and their policies will prevent you from actually doing what their mission statement claim. – less
this was a very exciting job. I was mostly on skates most of the day so i was able to get a work out while i was working. I loved that. We were also given tips for our service which always helped out. Everyone can use extra money. I worked my way up to crew leader in no time and was loved by all the guests adn employees.
Take/ deliver orders, fill drink orders, open/ close
Crew lead (Former Employee), Lewisville, TX – January 13, 2014
Able to meet new people and make them smile. Learned how to multi-task during rush hours, hardest part of the job was getting orders out in the required amount of time. the most enjoyable was that I could meet new people and make them smile and skate.
Sonic (Former Employee), Winnsboro, TX – November 22, 2013
Typical day at work, I would never sit down always just running around doing something. What I learned, would be how to talk to people and how to communicate with strangers. Management, I didn't like their management but you got to deal with it. Co-workers, were fun and energetic like me. Hardest part was quiting my job, Most enjoyable part was when – more... you pay for someone less fortunate s meal with your tips. – less
Waitress (Former Employee), Newport News, VA – November 18, 2013

Cons: short breaks
Fast paced,I learned alot about customers' service, management was easy going,my co-workers were competive, serving orders in a timely manner, and my most enjoyable part of my job was making customers' happy and making them wanting to come back.
Sonic was a fun place to work, It's one of the only fast food places that brings your food out to your car, typically on skates. Sonic made me better at counting money off the top of my head. The management was good, until the GM got fired and new management came in. 12 people quit within her few months of being a manager, due to her not working with – more... peoples school hours, ect. I got along with all the coworkers pretty well, we all worked as a team and got things done. The hardest part of the job was just making sure the everyone stayed on task so everything got done on time. The most enjoyable part was working with your friends and getting to go outside and communicate with regular customers. – less
Carhop (Former Employee), Houston Texas – September 15, 2013
Pros: fast pace
Working in a fast pace work environment while providing outstanding customers service, multitasking with food prep, cashiering and customers has taught me how to work well under pressure. Although they did later on require skating which ultimately had me resign the position.
Host (Former Employee), Orange, TX – September 3, 2013
Pros: free drinks.
Cons: short breaks, hectic.
Working at sonic was a good job to have while still in highschool. It was always hectic working at sonic due to being busy all the time. The management was never the same, some good days and some bad. My coworkers never lasted long. The hardest part of the job was learning that customers are always right. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting – more... free drinks. – less
Customer Service Executive (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – August 30, 2013
Pros: discounted lunches
Cons: working in the different seasons in the heat in the summer and in the cold in the winter
I took orders from guest, ran out food and drinks. Expo food and make sure everything was in order before taking to guest. I got along with all employee's and management. I loved interacting with the guest and making sure everything was done in a timely manner.
Shift Manager (Former Employee), Russellville, AR – August 26, 2013
Worked a lot and made good money, but was promised a GM position at my current store when the GM quit, or my own store when they built the new one. Neither happened and they brought a new GM in and asked me to train him...slap in the face!
