Fantastic program
Instructor (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PA – May 13, 2013
Pros: fantastic support
Cons: short breaks between sessions
Teaching a 6-week intensive course has its challenges. But this program was fantastic. The CMU/PITT initiative really turned out excellent lessons in neuroscientific research for those hungriest to learn the methods. My time-managemet skills were tested and honed here.

Fantastic peers
Teaching Assistant (Former Employee), Pittsburgh – March 20, 2013
I will never forget the days I spend 12 hours in the library on Sunday cranking through problem sets with my peers. Painful at the time, savory to recall now.

The Police Sergeant Position comes up quite often. In part, due to it being a non union position (ie At will).

Pros: low cost of living
Carnegie Mellon, and the Pittsburgh/Oakland area as a whole, is a great place to work as an academic. There are ongoing seminars and workshops at the various Universities, which are all within a short walk. Carnegie Mellon provides great benefits for its research and staff, and provide a very supportive atmosphere
