The QMRP is the professional responsible for the total active treatment provided to each resident. He/she obtains coordinates and monitors all professional and paraprofessional services related to the developmental needs of each resident and the treatment plan devised to meet these needs. He/she is responsible for advocating for the residents in obtaining appropriate services and in protecting their individual rights as necessary. The QMRP works under the direction of the Program Director.
Conducts assessments - Annual evaluations of client's skills are completed using a variety of assessment techniques. Participates in Habilitation Meetings; Writes, implements and monitors Habilitation Plans; Develops Program Contents, Conducts Training; Writes Training/Services Objectives; Documents Clients Progress; Monitors Objectives Progress; Maintains all of the residents files; Communicates with Nursing Department regarding medical, physical and health needs of the residents; Social Work Department re: family contacts, consents, human rights issues, certain equipment needs, and personal funds
This position calls for work in a vocational facility. QMRP may be involved with clients who may require lifting, and behavioral interventions. QMRP Participates in Utilization Review Committee, Psychotropic Drug Review, Quality Assurance, Admission and Human Rights Committee Meetings; Prepares monthly status reports; Perform other related duties as assigned.
Must hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field and have at least one year of paid full-time experience (or its equivalent) working directly with persons with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others professionally.
