Casual Italian Restaurant
Restaurant Hostess/Server/Curb (Former Employee), Morrow, GA – May 14, 2013
Pros: meeting great people.
Cons: going outside when it was freezing
A typical day would consist of people calling in to make reservations and to place to go orders. Our busiest times was during the weekends and on holidays. We'd have large parties call in to go orders and it was my job to make sure that the orders had been put together properly and take it out to the patrons car. I love interacting with others so this – more... job was also a breeze for me. – less

Management was not very skilled at marketing to both its guests AND employees.
Hostess (Former Employee), Marlton, NJ – April 28, 2013
Cons: no breaks
Further detail provided upon request. Managers would set higher expectations for certain people, but generally speaking they were all good people. Fun to work with at times.

Fun workplace, Even to this day I am still treated like family whenever I eat there.
HOSTESS (Former Employee), Asheville, NC – April 3, 2013
Pros: great management, food discounts
Cons: not enough hours, there were too many people on foh staff who were not reliable.
I memorized table numbers and server sections throughout the restaurant. I was in charge of the rotation sheet and kept track of wait times. I answered the phone, transferred calls, washed and rolled silverware, kept bathrooms stocked, and issued gift cards. I also cleaned the front of the restaurant and washed the windows at the start and end of every – more... shift.

It wasn't an extremely challenging position, but the managers were really wonderful to work for. Very friendly staff all around, some of us are still really close friends today.

The hardest part of the job was working on friday and saturday nights, we were always slammed. Along with being in charge of the rotation sheet, giving accurate wait times, and being aware to not double seat a server's section, I would wash, dry, and roll silverware. I would also help to prebus the tables in order to keep a high rate of turnover in the restaurant.

Personally, my favorite part of the job was training new FOH Hostesses in their opening and closing duties. – less

Casual Dining Italian restaurant on the higher end of Casual
Managing Partner/Proprietor (Former Employee), Tulsa, OK – March 20, 2013
10+ hours a day. I took a great deal of knowledge from this company regarding: Quality of food and service, principles and beliefs on how to take care of a staff, and guests. The most enjoyable part of the job was constantly learning and growing, and the relationships of my guests and staff

Server/Waitress (Former Employee), Collierville, TN – March 19, 2013
Pros: learned how to provide excellent service to guests, ate amazing food
Serving at Carrabba's Italian Grill was a great experience for me. I was passionate about the food and provided customers with the best dining experience possible. I had a flexible schedule and enjoyed working with all of my co-workers and managers. This was a smaller group of co-workers, yet very hard working. I enjoyed serving fresh, organic food – more... and never lost the passion for the food my managers originally instilled me with upon my hiring. – less

Restaurant business
Carside carry-out (Former Employee), Austin, TX – February 13, 2013
Pros: knowledgeable staff, and theyhave a wine seminar. tips were great too!
Cons: long tedious hours
A typical day insures that all customers leave satisfied. most duties here are taking phone orders, and helping out the waiters when possible, but each Carrabbas is managed differently. I was taking phone orders, using cutting tools and machines to cut bread, food bagging, maintained carside room clean and stocked, provided catering services, and trained – more... new carside personnel. Management is very corporate and has standards set in place. This is a fast paced environment so you don't get to talk much to co workers during shifts. The hardest part of the job is retaining all the food information, wine knowledge, and customer relations info. I enjoyed the free food there! – less

Server (Former Employee), Crestview Hills, KY – January 15, 2013
Pros: 50% off food. great shifts.
Cons: no breaks. insurance was bad.
I would go into work and get ready for the evening dinner rush. I learned how to take care of my guests with fast and efficient customer service. My managers were amazing and always helped with anything. My co-workers were always willing to help if needed. The hardest part of the job was cleaning after hours. The most enjoyable was taking care of my – more... guests to the best of my knowledge. – less

Server/Trainer/Key (Current Employee), Austin, TX – January 10, 2013
Pros: the pros of my job is benefits and paid vacation. i also have a flexible schedule.
Cons: the cons is having to work very long weekends so i am able to get my benefits and paid vacation.
A typical day at work is taking care of costumers needs. I have learned that no matter how hard you try you cannot make everyone happy. I work for a great management staff. All of my co-workers are great. The hardest part of my job is when I am key and I have an unhappy customer and I am trying to do what I can to make them happy. There are times that – more... no matter what you do they just are not happy. The most enjoyable part of my job is all of my regulars. – less

Exciting place to work if you are social
Waitress/Server (Current Employee), Columbus, GA – January 3, 2013
Pros: quick money
Cons: budgeting
A typical day is slow and pops after 1800 hours. You learn product and customer service skills. Management can be like hells kitchen and fast paced. Co-workers are like family and we all go through similar experiences. The hardest part is not making the amount of money you thought you would make and getting no tips off of a table. The most enjoyable – more... is meeting new people and fast money. – less

Dishwasher (Former Employee), Daytona Beach, FL – December 27, 2012
This was probably one of my favorite jobs just because of the co-workers were great. It was also probably one of the most fast paced jobs I've had. I learned a lot there, cleaning dishes, making food, etc.
