Very exciting and challenging place to work.
Material Technician (Former Employee), Charlotte, NC – March 19, 2013
Pros: we had alot of events in which family and friends could come and enjoy.
Cons: i felt some jobs at carrier could've paid more due to certain certifications required.
It's a safe and very clean place to work. I worked there for thirteen years and got to know alot of wonderful people and different job opportunities. The hardest part of the job was at month's end. We had to load until the last truck was gone, which usually meant 14 to 18 hour days. My co-workers were great and we really made the best of it.

Was a great experience to work at D.H.L
Driver (Former Employee), South Boston, MA – January 17, 2013
Pros: worked with many diverse types of individuals.
Cons: no complaints
D.H.L was a busy logistics company with great upper management and talent. Being in a union environment had its challenges, but mostly everyone got the job completed. Being on call for three different stations in Massachusetts was difficult (Boston, Stoneham and Needham) because I never knew where I would go on that given day. However, I had the chance – more... to meet new faces everyday. – less

I liked working on an assembly line with other people.
Production Technician (Former Employee), Memphis, TN – January 2, 2013
Pros: extra hours every week
Cons: when the season changed they would lay off
On a typical day I would run test about 1200 air condition units for Carrier. If they failed I would have to spend it back to be reworked. If they passed it would go on down the line to be ready for shipment.

Production Technician (Former Employee), Memphis, TN – January 2, 2013
Pros: bonus checks
Cons: short lunch breaks
On a typical day I would meet on an average of 30 to 40 new faces everyday. I loved learning how the different people would shop for shoes. I really enjoyed talking to the kids and helping to get new shoes.

Supply Chain Manager (Former Employee), North America – December 16, 2012
Carrier is part of a large manufacturing conglomerate that takes employee engagement seriously. As with any high volume manufacturing, this fast paced environment is great for those who enjoy working hard.

Purchasing Planner (Former Employee), Morrison, TN – December 12, 2012
Pros: working with a great team both in hr and purchasing
Cons: having to leave the hr job i loved to be a full time carrier employee.
Our day would begin with running an on hand. You learned to tell with a quick glance if you were going to have parts issues. Managements expecations were for you to be able to address any issues at an 8:00 a.m. meeting held daily or to at least have a working plan of how you were going to address the issue. This info was then shared with upper managementg – more... at a 9:00 a.m. meeting. You learned if you were hitting a brick wall so to speak, go to one of your co-workers who has dealt with this supplier before...They might have a trick or two you didn't know. The hardest part of this job was loosing it when the plant closed in 2005. There were friendships made there that I lost contact with over the years. My absolute favorite part of working there were the 8 years I spent in HR. I guess I have always looked at that particular job as black or white. You love it or you hate it., There were sad things that had to be dealt with along the way but there were WAY more good ones. – less

Inept management, great people (but not for much longer).
Sales Representative (Current Employee), Binghamton, NY – December 5, 2012
Pros: pays for tuition, not doing your job won't get you fired (apparently)
Cons: poor management, lack of support systems, cheap.
It is only by the hard work of technicians, sales professionals, and service supervisors that the Commercial Service division of Carrier survives. The upper management is out of touch the business.

electrician (Former Employee), indy – November 29, 2012
Cons: work 6 10 hr days 8 sundays, management is a joke if cant do your job they promote you, wages are low
management has no idea what his department is doing or the other departments, lack of communication between departments, not sure how most of salary people find their way home or to work, no time off, the hardest part of this job is not telling your boss or his boss you think his is an idiot, they spend money like crazy on stuff they will throw away – more... in 6 monthes, not sure how they stay running – less

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Charlotte, NC – November 21, 2012
Pros: i enjoyed working there.
Cons: no advance warning of a lay off
I had a great manager, someone I could relate too. This company paid 100% for higher education, regardless to what you return to school for.

fast pace, and simple
Independent Contractor (Current Employee), Bay City, TX – November 16, 2012
Pros: easy and only takes a few hours to complete
Cons: hours, never a scheduled time
I only work a couple days a week delivering the papers. We seperate the papers and bag them for delivery to the stores and to subscribers. I don't really see my co-workers alot, most of the time they are in and out. The hardest part of my job is the scheduling, the papers are printed and ready to go at different hours so you really can't plan any events – more... for the evening time with your family. It becomes very tiring when you have to work the next morning. The best part of the job is that its fast paced, and not very difficult to do. – less
