Lumber Yard Associate (Former Employee), Rochester, INJanuary 20, 2014
It has been awhile but keeping the yard looking presentable was what we would do given we had no customers and i worked with a great group of guys. Shingle loads were usually the most challenging part while the people i worked with was the most enjoyable part

tow motor, filling orders (Former Employee), Mogadore, OHDecember 15, 2013
Pros: working with great people.
Cons: splinters.
Setting up orders for customers, I did get to learn the different types of lumber, the management was easy to work with. Co-workers always willing to help, there was nothing really hard about the job, and the enjoyment of the job was seeing repeat business and having relationships with the locals.

Inside Sales Representitive (Former Employee), Elizabethtown, paNovember 20, 2013
A typical day is faced with many quick decisions including when and where to ship materials to customers in a timely and professional manner. Answering generic questions on home care and also providing quotes for commercial jobs requiring mass amounts of materials.

Sales (Current Employee), Georgetown, OHJune 7, 2013
Pros: can hang out at home on rainy days.
Cons: unrealistic expectations, false promises.
Promised big money if I could bring my customers from last lumberyard, said the company was growing and could be part of this euphoria type of environment. Didn't take long to figure out this place is a joke. They hire sales staff from competitors to get new accounts opened with them and then raise your sales goals to unachievable levels in no time – more... so they have an excuse to take compensation guarantees away. I tried to direct ship I-joists a couple weeks ago and couldn't because the company I booked the order with had cut us off for being past due. Management is ridiculous, former yard guy they moved in with no business sense or respect for his staff. Don't "get Cartered", a big box store treats their staff better. I'm already looking for a next gig. – less

Dont think this company cares about thier employees
Foreman (Former Employee), Massillon, OHMarch 30, 2013
Pros: working with the public and being able to help people
Cons: working all on the weekends, dealing with rude people
worked different shifts
I learned how to design kitchens and pole barns
The management was changed while I was on vacation and the new management was terrible.
The hardest part of this job was dealing with the contractors who came in for their materials some of them were really rude.
the best part of this job was when I could help customers learn to – more... do something for themselves. – less
