Pros: pros from ra- own room. pros from office assistant: good flexibility in hours, good managing style going on, great work environment, friendly and professional co-workers
Cons: cons from ra- input is far greater then output received, policies changed often to a way that was unfair, work environment was never properly ran, policies within workplace were abundant and mostly unfair.
-While a Residential Assistant, I was focusing on creating a positive customer to business (new residents being 'customers' and the 'business' being myself running the floor) relationship amongst all residents on floor.
-Learned that I need to discover job details prior to signing contract, as the contract that I was informed and job duties that I was assigned was WAY different on the contract I signed compared to actual job
-Resigned after semester work due to personal issues along with disagreements in policies in the workplace. Very happy I did and left that job in a respectful and positive manner.
-While currently working for Todd Wehr Center of Carthage as an Office Assistant, I was involved in answer phone calls and transferring all calls that come to into Carthage College to the desired office or professor.
-Customer relationship skills via phone and in person were sharpened
-Professional etiquette in dealing with job environment and policies are greatly demonstrated and managed. Great working environment and one of the best jobs offered to students on-campus.
