At Carthage college I work as the student manager for the Men's Volleyball team. Being that I am a student working with these guys has been an amazing experience. They are like family too me now and I plan on continuing with this job until I graduate. The coach of this team has been more than understanding with my hectic schedule and he has been a great – more... guy to work with and I couldn't ask for a better boss. – less

Student Caller (Current Employee), Kenosha, WIMarch 2, 2014
Pros: breaks, casual environment, easy going employees
Cons: boring
A typical day at the Carthage College Call Center consists of assisting the college in fundraising and connecting with alumni. What I have taken away from this experience is being able to deal with all different personality types and not get discouraged. The most enjoyable part of the job is listening to stories from alumni and helping raise money for – more... the college. – less

Two Jobs, I'm Doing What I love
Student Ambassador (Current Employee), Kenosha, WIFebruary 19, 2014
Because I don't qualify for work study, it was initially difficult to find a job at school. My sophomore year, I started writing for the paper, and in the beginning of junior year I was hired as a student ambassador. One job allows me to write and edit, and the other allows me to make personal connections and help prospective students find their dream – more... school. – less

Carthage jobs offer great flexibility
Office Assistant (Current Employee), Kenosha, WIFebruary 7, 2014
Pros: pros from ra- own room. pros from office assistant: good flexibility in hours, good managing style going on, great work environment, friendly and professional co-workers
Cons: cons from ra- input is far greater then output received, policies changed often to a way that was unfair, work environment was never properly ran, policies within workplace were abundant and mostly unfair.
-While a Residential Assistant, I was focusing on creating a positive customer to business (new residents being 'customers' and the 'business' being myself running the floor) relationship amongst all residents on floor.
-Learned that I need to discover job details prior to signing contract, as the contract that I was informed and job duties that I was – more... assigned was WAY different on the contract I signed compared to actual job
-Resigned after semester work due to personal issues along with disagreements in policies in the workplace. Very happy I did and left that job in a respectful and positive manner.

-While currently working for Todd Wehr Center of Carthage as an Office Assistant, I was involved in answer phone calls and transferring all calls that come to into Carthage College to the desired office or professor.
-Customer relationship skills via phone and in person were sharpened
-Professional etiquette in dealing with job environment and policies are greatly demonstrated and managed. Great working environment and one of the best jobs offered to students on-campus. – less

Resident Assistant, Asst. Hall Director (Former Employee), Kenosha, WIDecember 22, 2013
Working at Carthage in my various roles was rich with challenges and enjoyable moments. Though the work/life balance was quite difficult to maintain at times, the overall experience had more good moments than bad. Co-workers were more like family, always looking out for one another. Working for the college taught me how to handle pressures and influences – more... from all sides and make the best of that information to suit my situation. – less

Pros: fun relaxed environment
Cons: the pay schedule was a month delayed.
I would be able to works nights from 6-10 and was able to work with students both traditional and adult ed. The school worked well with my class and personal schedule to give me the maximum number of hours possible. Friendly co workers. I learned how to manage a facility with strict regulations.
