The Merchandiser is responsible for developing and executing merchandising programs for each product line, communicating with vendors the impact proper merchandising has on sales margins and ensuring that a proper level of stock is maintained and that the merchandise is displayed and placed appropriately including setup, plan-o-gram execution, as well as the stocking, fronting, facing, and rotating products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the Territory Managers and VP of Sales to plan the sales targets for the territory.
Execute said strategy using a variety of sales tools, including weekly face-to-face sales meetings with key customers, product presentations, and dealer sell-through strategies
Achieve sales and margin targets with assigned dealers and assigned product lines.
Maintain close relationships with customers in the territory, ensuring that relevant information is properly communicated.
Communicate and report on a weekly basis, as required, to the Territory Managers or VP of Sales, on the status of the PES business, successes, and opportunities in the territory.
Consistently analyze business and partner with VP of Sales and local Territory Manager to formulate creative selling and marketing strategies that maximize opportunities for revenue growth with our top dealers.
Proactively drive sales by maintaining consistent communication with the dealer management teams regarding sales, goals/plans, competitor performance, seasonal clinics, and dealer events.
Motivate and maintain a strong visual presentation of all product lines PES supplies. This includes maintaining all POP, price signage, visually appealing equipment displays & cross merchandising of accessories for all product categories.
Responsible for working consistently with each dealer, strengthen and develop their knowledge of PES products lines available to their business.
Initiate seasonal strategies and promotional efforts with the local Territory Manager and marketing specialist.
Secure prime floor and shelf space for PES brands.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
3-5 years of experience with retail merchandising, field sales, or wholesales environment (outdoor power equipment strongly preferred). Sears, Home Depot, Lowes experience a plus.
Previous experience with hardline merchandising/visual merchandising
Analytical skillsets- understand and create sales reports as needed to improve reports
Ability to work flexible schedule as needed
Able to use Microsoft applications (Publisher, Word, Excel)
50% travel required (Oregon & WA states)
Must live in the Eugene to Portland OR area
