Annually, Catholic Charities West Michigan serves over 25,000 individuals and families across the 11-county Diocese of Grand Rapids. Additionally, its food programs serve over 200,000 meals. Of those served, 80% are not Catholic and 75% have a household income of $15,000 or less. The agency's work is accomplished by a staff of over 275 through comprehensive, results-oriented programs and services in four distinct areas of emphasis: Child Welfare, Family Preservation, Behavioral Health, and Community Outreach.
Families First is an intensive, short-term in home crisis intervention program for families, referred by the Department of Human Services, that is designed to preserve and support the family unit, and enable children to remain safely with their family. It follows a strength based empowerment model for long-term family health and functioning. Bachelor’s Degree in the human services or related field required. Masters preferred. Possess knowledge and experience in working in family and child services. Background should include experience working with multi problem children and families.
