Seasonal Worker (Current Employee) –  Presque Isle, MEJuly 12, 2012
It depends on what you do here for work. If you work on the harvester, it is very long hours. If you work in the packing shed, there are two main jobs. The first is what is called racking. Racking consist of standing in one spot and picking out the bad potatoes and rocks as they go by on a belt. Then there is packing. Packing can consist of fill 50lb. bags and running them threw a sowing station, then sending it up a belt to be stacked onto a pallet. Then there is takeing 5, 10, or even 15 lb. bags and putting them in polly then taping it up. after you tape it up you send it on a belt and walk to the end of said belt and picking up the polly bag that can weigh 50 or 60 lbs. and then stacking them any where from 5 high to 9 high. The people you work with are very nice and you have two 15 min. breaks and an one 30 min. lunch break.
Pros
friendly work environment.
Cons
short breaks, not knowing when you will work again, and poor workmans comp benifits.
