QC Inspector Level III (Former Employee) –  Jenkinsville, SCApril 18, 2017
CB&I treats their employees well. Its construction so a work/life balance is constantly fluctuating. The company always did something for the employees when major project milestones were met.

Poor place to work
Lead Pipe Cutter (Current Employee) –  Beaumont, TXApril 15, 2017
Great job if you want to work six or seven days a week. Management is poor, they say safety is number one, till it gets in the way of production. At that point they do not mind putting your life at risk.
Pros
Plenty of hours, Good coworkers
Cons
No time off, poor managment

Friendly company to work for
Procurement- Export Credit Agent (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXApril 13, 2017
Friendly environment, however workload is heavy and management is a bid unorganized. The company tends to hire older experienced individuals whom bring alot of pros and cons to the company. There is also alot of favoritism within the company, which makes it hard to move up if your not part of the "in crowd". Overall this is a good company to work for.
Pros
Free meals
Cons
Management unorganized

Got Laid Off
Senior Buyer (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXApril 11, 2017
It is unpleasant getting laid off. Forced to leave immediately. There is no severance, and no warning. There is no explanation. You are just alone in your car with a box

Paid overtime
Cons
Career security

Carpenter Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Waynesboro, GAApril 3, 2017
My experience with this organization, is one that leaves little to be desired. Had they not be signed with a labor agreement I feel that the wages would not even been what they were. Most promotions were because of aquintences and not skill level.
Pros
union signitory contractor
Cons
the good ole boy system.

This place has a grea job work/life balance
Sr. Process Engineer (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMarch 28, 2017
this is not a highly stressful place to work for and it is a hand on training place. The leads are promoting learning environment and there were various training sessions. Co-workers are laid back and I have a group of good friends here.

The hardest part is when there are arising issues, you leads might not know the answer and you'll have to know where to ask the question and it is tough for new comers at the beginning but once you settled and knowing more people it will get easier.

The most enjoyable part of the job is forming good friendship with the people you work with even outside the work place.
Pros
free company wide snacks and/or meal from time to time
Cons
no jeans on friday

Laborer (Former Employee) –  Hackberry, LAMarch 27, 2017
Great place to work but just like any other job it have its flaws. The main thing at CB&I was supervisors that disliked other employees, and do whatever in their power to get rid of them.

Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Beaumont, TXMarch 26, 2017
Little accountability with managment. No real reward for you if you are not socially connected with department management. Those that are connected can Facebook all day long and not really work.
Pros
Pay and plenty of overtime
Cons
No real recognition for hard work
