CCI is an extremely dishonest company that does not care about its employees
Advisor (Former Employee), IBM –
Pros: working on the apple account
Cons: dishonest, decietful, does not work with school schedules, shorted hours, poor training
During the interview I was rushed into signing paperwork without being given the time to read it and decieved into believing it was paperwork to complete a background check. I later discovered that I had signed a document that stated the company could pay any remaining hours owed upon leaving the company at minimum wage. The document and policy itself – more...  is extremely horrible not to mention the fact that the company lied about what was being signed and hid the information. I honestly don't think I would have agreed to signing the document or accepted the position had I known this fact ahead of time. When I leave a company I expect to get paid for the work I have completed not less just because I left, basically I did the same amount of work for less money.
Five months after the interview they called back to offer me a job, the time frame alone should have been a clue about the type of the company but I agreed to meet with them to discuss the job. I was told I needed to take a series of tests to determine if I would be hired as a customer service or a technical support advisor for an Apple account. I was interested in the customer service position, not the technical support postion because I have a great deal of customer service experience and had never done any type of technical support. After completing the tests they asked me to work with an advisor to learn about the position, after working with a customer service advisor I decided to accept the position. I believed I was being hired for a customer service position; however I was told when I started training that I was a technical support advisor which I was never wanted. I decided to give the position a change regardless of the fact it was not what I believed I was hired for.
I also accepted the position with the agreement they would accommodate my school schedule which right from the beginning they did not. I was told they needed specific hours for training and after the training there would be no problems with scheduling around my school hours; however even after the training was completed the company did not work with my schedule. I was then told that the scheduling was set by a senority rank based on performance, this is not what was explained when I accepted the job.
Last but not least the training was not very good spent a large amount of training time watching commercials/videos about Apple procucts, learning how to provide empathy to customers, and how to sell the protection plan. There was and very little time learning the technical support part of the position, instead we were told look up the information while attempting to assist the customers and to make the call as quick as possible preferably less that 15 minutes per call. This does not seem like very good customer service to me.
I attempted to suceed at the technical support position; however with the lack of training I struggled. I notified the supervisors that I was struggling and requested to be transferred to the customer service position and in return was told to just to be more confident. I decided to quit the postion which of course is when I found out that the hours worked were paided at minimum wage. In addition to the minimum wage cut on my hours, I was shorted hours which I am still attempting to get reimbursed for.
Overall CCI is a very deceitful company and I would not recommend accepting a position with them. Apple seems like a good company; however I think they made a poor choice in who they hired to provide their customer service and I hope they realize that the process currently in place is a poor method of customer service. Apple has great products and should be providing great customer service which starts first with great training. – less
