CDS Global is a leading provider of customer care, data management, e-commerce, order management, and fulfillment services, primarily for publishers and direct marketers, as well as for other industries. CDS Global also offers database marketing, e-mail marketing fulfillment, and warehousing and distribution services. It has about US offices in the US, as well as operations in Australia, Canada, and the UK. CDS Global is a subsidiary of media giant Hearst Corporation.
Like most players in the order management and marketing industries, CDS Global is working to bolster its online presence. In 2011 it acquired acquisition of PayDQ, a provider of Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) solutions. The deal allows CDS Global to serve customers with electronic billing and payment technologies needed to deliver a combined paper and electronic solution across multiple channels, such as in-person, telephone, online, and mobile.
The company is also using acquisitions to widen its client base. In 2010, it acquired the magazine fulfillment and order management service operations from Optima Data Intelligence Services Limited. The operations catered exclusively to the UK market. As a result, CDS Global increased its client portfolio by more than 35 publishers and 320 magazine titles.
CDS Global, formerly known as Communications Data Services, was founded in 1971 when circulation employees for Look bought the magazine's IBM computer and launched their own independent subscription fulfillment business. Hearst acquired the company in 1982. – less
