Temporary - Admin (Former Employee) –
Pros: offers health/dental/401(k)
Cons: when on temp assignmts i was denied ft opps, i had at least a wk off 'tween jobs... no income!, i was at fault when i wasn't given 32-hr work wks, i was never placed in my field of expertise, jobs i got would've been better suited for interns, very poor planning keeping constant work flows
This organization is not interested in you, the job seeker. Its loyalty lies with its paying clients. 1) Celebrity always knew my #1 priority was permanent, FT work. When I found interesting jobs on Celebrity's website, I was turned away when I inquired... because I was already on a current temp assignment. (Couldn't someone else have taken the temp – more...  assignment if I procured the direct-hire opp?) 2) I lost my health/dental insurance benefits twice because I wasn't working an average of 32 hours over a rolling 12-wk period. The first time, I didn't understand that this would happen... so THAT wasn't explained clearly to me! So that it wouldn't happen a second time, I made a conscious effort to keep my hours up. When I found myself in a 2-wk lull, with little or no work, I called Celebrity every day, making it clear that I had to get my hours up so that I would not lose my health insurance benefits. I didn't get the hours I begged for. Then I was the one who got the phone call from the Benefits dept warning ME that I needed to keep my hours up!!! Even when I got a temp position at 40 hrs/wk and got my hours built up, I had a 90-day waiting period before I was eligible for health ins... most of my temp assignments didn't last 90 days! Sure, I could have applied for COBRA in the meantime, but I worked $10.00/hr jobs and COBRA cost $511.00/mth. Unless you have a second income and don't need insurance benefits, STAY AWAY FROM CELEBRITY. – less
