Okay pay w/ benefits and dealing with stressful behaviors from the individuals isn't worth the pay.

You learn a lot by working with mentally disabled people, but the pay isn't that great and you don't get any raises. Management are very ungrateful when it comes to recognizing the work of the good staff, as opposed to the lazy staff. Despite those cons, when you've worked with the consumers, you realize that they are regular people with the same wants and needs as anyone else. The only difference is that they have disabilities, which calls for our assistance. They are fun to be around and you can learn a lot from them.
