Central Lift Maintenance Group, an equipment fleet maintenance and service provider to the railroad industry is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Nashville, TN location.

Responsible for maintenance and repair of lift and spotter/ hostler equipment, service schedule compliance, fielding customer M&R inquiries, damage and repair process compliance, safety & environmental program compliance, maintenance of company assets, inventory management, record keeping, and other primary functions (outlined below). Additionally responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and diagnosing truck chassis, truck trailers, and containers.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the lift and spotter/ hostler equipment to ensure that it is being done properly, efficiently, and in the least costly manner.
Meet service and inspection schedule requirements for the lift and spotter/ hostler equipment.
Communicate routinely with management providing equipment updates relative to downtime and major repairs.
Ensure adequate maintenance and inspection records are completed & kept on file.
Keep the work and office areas, lift pads, parts inventory and company vehicles and assets in a clean and orderly condition and in environmental compliance.
Maintain and service company assets in order to minimize expenses and maximize life of the asset.
Manage parts inventory to ensure accuracy and to limit the amount on hand.
Assist with vendor management by providing performance feedback and cost reduction ideas.
Adhere to the damage documentation and communication process to ensure that the company is able to collect on ‘Repairs’ to the lift and spotter/ hostler equipment.
Respond within 2 hours when you are ‘On-Call’ for lift and spotter/ hostler equipment breakdowns for designated facilities.
Comply with all safety and environmental regulations by wearing the required safety gear, labeling all fluid containers, inspecting fire extinguishers monthly, grinder guards and cylinder caps are in place, ensuring first aid kits and eye wash bottles are full, as well as other requirements not listed.
Repair work on truck chassis, truck trailers, and containers such as: tire patching, tire placement, lights, brakes, metal straightening, and minor electrical wiring repairs.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of hydraulic, electric, diesel, and mechanical systems.
Able to work from an elevated height of up to 60’ and able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist level.
Able to climb 100 rung ladders, stand, bend, crouch, and kneel constantly throughout the day.
Capable of working in a loud environment from running equipment.
Capable of working in all weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Dependable and hardworking.
Compensation $18-$25 an hour, based on experience.
Available to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
