Really laid back position
Cashier (Current Employee), Kansas City, MO – May 13, 2013
Depending on the day, our garage is located around a lot of locations that host big events. If there isn't any events going on that day then i am to sit in the booth and cash out customers parking tickets. If there is a big event then another cashier and i are to stand outside and pre sale parking tickets

Worst place to work
Cashier (Current Employee), Philadelphia, PA – March 29, 2013
Pros: managers dont care about anything so you can basically do anything you please
Cons: no benefits what so ever so please dont fall for that lie, lazy co workers
The managers are cool but everbody else including supervisors are lazy, nobody likes doing their job so it makes it harder to do you're own job while you are doing everybody elses. Alot of favoritism goes on around here and it sucks because the people they favor are the ones that dont do their job. We used to get hour breaks then it went to half hour – more... then it went down to 15 minutes and on top of that you're lucky if you get a break. – less

most mind numbingly boring job imaginable
cashier (Current Employee), tn – February 21, 2013
Pros: not having a manager breathing down your back
Cons: everything else
You are trapped in a small booth for over 8 hours at a time and forced to repeat the same tasks and say the same things about 300 times a day like a robot. the management is absolutely terrible and for the most part non existent.

Diversity in work place kept it motivating. Public interacting a plus.
Enforcement Supervisor (Former Employee), Virginia Beach, VA – February 20, 2013
Pros: friendly staff, reliable staff, majority of public was attainable.
Cons: unruly public events
Very energetic team. The weather certainly helped, the work was more outdoor than in. I learned to interact with law enforcement officers and the routine's we have in common, respectfully. Management team was always available, efficient and professional. The hardest part of my job was having to let employees go home due to rain. The most enjoyable part – more... of my job was the variety of duties during special events at the Oceanfront. – less

ok place to work, no recommendable for students
Customer Service/Parking Attendant (Former Employee), Far Rockaway, NY – December 26, 2012
Pros: probability to advance even from a seasonal position, meet new people
Cons: horribly low pay, facing really nasty people for such low money, unhealthy for students
I first started as a traffic director (flag guy) for the US open 2004 my intentions were to make some money to pay my college to which I was already accepted. Got discovered by my future manager when he came to manage for one day, the team saw him as an old guy that wont do nothing to them, the 7 flag guys attending the 10 lane main gate left for shadows – more... leaving me alone to flag in the 10 lanes of cars. We all got sent home, only I returned from that team (I didn't know I got sent to rest) got promoted to continue work through the rest of the Mets 2004 season, then Yankees postseason and before it ended I got sent to work permanent in Far Rockaway.
Typically I would work 2pm-10pm as a cashier, just receiving the tickets from the customers, checking their incoming time and charging accordingly.
The hardest part was dealing with some unruly customers that thought was unfair to charge them for coming to a hospital parking lot, in some occasions endure insults. The other part I made it hard for me attending college in New York city in the morning and running to the train to make it to work at 2PM. I pushed through but wasn't any easy – less

easy job
lot attendent (Current Employee), san jose, ca – November 27, 2012
Pros: downtime, helping customers
Cons: irate customers, paycheck problems, don't expect a regular schedule
typical day:

watching the camera
dealing with irate customers
be a cashier

management is ok and do care when you have problems. some are tough when dealing with customers. i mean, i've seen screaming matches over a lost ticket - even spat upon. there is a greater concern, however, they will cheat you over with pay. i don't know what is going on in – more... the offices but for the last couple of paychecks, my hours do not match my check.

hardest part of the job is dealing with customers. imagine losing your ticket and having to pay the maximum rate of $20 even after you paid. i'd be angry too but, as a cashier, we have to take the brunt of their rage and still somehow convince (manipulate) them to fork over the cash. management, by now, should have found a solution in dealing with this problem. the cashiers should NOT be allowed to take this abuse.

most enjoyable part: down time and helping customers. You will have lots of it so bring an iphone or some books to pass the time. as for the customers, they are great when sober.

also, don't expect to get anywhere in this company. some of my co-workers, who have worked for over 5 years, do not have a regular full-time schedule. – less

Dull and miserable place to work
Cashier (Current Employee), Norfolk, VA – November 22, 2012
Pros: simple job
Cons: very limited and controlled breaks, poor management, low pay, easy but boring job
A typical day at work is boring, simple and easy, but boring. I sit in a booth all day and sell parking spaces to people at Macarthur Mall, which doesn't seem so bad, but when it comes to the low pay, and poor management it makes the job not even worth it. Management is uncommunicative, unorganized, and improper training of new recruits. I'm not just – more... an employee, but also a student, and have told my superiors and my manager when and what days I go to school, yet they still schedule me on days I have school. They also were supposed to show me a schedule and so far, I have not seen anything even when I have asked it. So this makes it hard on me to know when and what days to come in, and they still schedule me on days I have school, so far I have been able to keep from getting in trouble by reminding them. But if I get in trouble for something I didn't do, then that will become the hardest part of this job, dealing with the management. the only part I enjoyed, was learning how to use the cash register, after that, I just want to find the exit. – less
