Supervisor (Current Employee) – York, PA – February 9, 2016
My day here at Central starts at 6am Monday through Friday, and has taught me how to manage time, how to handle situations when a staff that I supervise is upset with a situation along with how to handle issues properly and professionally. The management team is great and extremely supportive towards myself and all concerns that I bring to their attention. My co-workers appreciate me and tell me very often that they are glad I am their supervisor, how I go about things in a calm and respectful manor being sure that the issue or concern is sought and resolved in a timely manor! The hardest part of my job I would have to say is communicating with my supervisor when there are things that I have concerns about or information that I need to be aware of when there is a staff that is not coming in for the night so that I can prepare my night custodians and help them to get on board. There is a lack of communication with the the assistance of the higher supervisor and all information does not always reach me so that I am informed, but rather meets other custodians than myself. The most enjoyable part of my job I can honestly say is everything! I enjoy working with the fabulous teachers and administrators within the building, my staff, and the children at the school. It has a great vibe and is an extremely friendly work place where everyone is friends and works together as a team!
Parent Volunteer (Current Employee) – York, PA – May 1, 2013
The most enjoyable part of this volunteer opportunity has been interacting with the teachers and students. I have learned organizational skills and time management skills. I have had opportunities in the the classroom aiding children in learning to read and write as well organizing themed activities designated by the teacher. I have also organized and managed large school-wide events. I sought volunteers, purchased supplies and managed the event.
Working for the School is like working with a wonderful family.
Library Assistant (Current Employee) – York, PA – July 2, 2012
Open up the Library and start checking books for students and staff. Gathering information for Teachers. Helping students choose books. Sending out overdue notices. Supervising student while in the Library. Our Principal is a wonderful man to work with. My co-worker are very helpful and understanding if a certain item is not currently available. The hardest part of the job is when I have to send a student to the office for making bad choices in the Library. The most enjoyable part of the job is when a student comes back to discuss a book I choose for them and they enjoyed it.
