Fun and Professional work place
Frequently conduct outbound sales calls (Current Employee) –  Midwest City, OKJuly 5, 2017
Been working with this company for 2 years. And compared to the other call centers this company beats them by far. People are really friendly and caring.
Pros
Full time, 1 hour lunch, paid holidays, closes at 8pm, work once a month on Saturdays and off Sundays.
Cons
Short breaks

Don't do it!
N/A (Current Employee) –  Midwest City, OKJune 22, 2017
If you have any self respect or have a good work ethic then don't waste your time here. Other companies need you more than this place. They will work you to the ground and then question why you didn't do more. You will have no voice, and if you stand out of the crowd in any way that is good, you will be shot down. Please reconsider your options before you apply here.

Warehouse atmosphere
Showroom Runner (Former Employee) –  Midwest City, OKMay 8, 2017
Fast paced warehouse with heavy lifting; large demand of time around holidays very unbalanced. There is some opportunities for limited growth within the company.

Overall everything can improve.
Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator (Current Employee) –  Mid west city, OklahomaJanuary 24, 2017
Management could improve on their communication skills witb each other and employees. The work load is beyond too much for ine person to handle and the time the supervisors expect the work to be done in is impossible. Especially the workers they have doing said projects. 95% of us do not have the experience to these projects.

Century Martial Arts is strict business
Graphic Designer (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKJuly 22, 2016
Working at Century Martial Arts is a good stepping stone for your career. However, like every job for designers, take any offer with a grain of salt. You will work hard; during the busy seasons of early summer and winter holidays you are required to work various amounts of overtime which is unpaid right now. The design jobs are salaried and dispersed at 40 hours per week, with pay every two weeks.

The design projects vary from advertisements to template materials for sending to martial art schools across the United States. There are a few setbacks and downfalls to this job if you do not have every skill and many more. The work culture is very business oriented as focus on work. The people are kind but there is an underlying nature of negativity at times.

Be careful during the first few months of your career at Century Martial Arts and keep focused on your work. Keep your head in your work, never meddle in any job besides your own.
Pros
Opportunity for beginning professionals
Cons
Unexpected timelines, high stress environment during busy times, needed help may not always be accessable

Overall a great place to work
Manager of Distribution (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKMay 12, 2016
Very diverse workforce who balance the overall business quite well.
Century maintains an onsite call center as well as mfg of some of
their product, and lastly a warehouse that packs and ships products
to retail business as well as Martial Art Schools and individual internet customers.
Pros
Free Martial Arts Training

Great for a Resume, but Not for a Career
Do Not Wish to Disclose (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKJanuary 29, 2016
1) There is literally no room for growth with this company. Once you're salary has been set when starting, you will receive little to no increase each year.

2) If you are salaried, they expect you to work more than 40hrs/week all the time. They also expect many to take work home after hours as well. Those who don't have family's stay late to finish work that those who have kids etc. go home on time or early.

3) Work is not delegated equally, therefore if anything goes wrong, people will not hesitate to throw their teammates under the bus. Praise will go to certain employees and not others who work just as hard.

4) Managers will break employees down, not build them up and help them grow. Turnover is fairly high in certain areas. Often times they won't fill the same position, instead will create a whole new position to fill the void.

5) Benefits have changed up at least 3 times since I worked there. Health and Dental are decent, but vision is pretty awful.

Great Company, Bad Compartmental Management
Quality (Former Employee) –  Midwest City, OKJune 15, 2015
The carrot will be dangled in front of your face with phrases like "advancement from within." Good luck with that. I knew multiple people who were exceedingly better qualified than their department managers stuck in "grunt" positions.

Positive feedback means next to nothing if you don't follow orders, even if those orders violate company policy and/or general safety rules. Job description is subject to change without good cause. Innovation is often rewarded with stagnation unless you work in R & D. Failure to follow expectations that have not been clearly outlined will be consider your fault.

Pay is reasonable, but you are unlikely to receive any significant raise despite the quality of your review, unless you are promoted, which is unlikely as most of the department managers and higher ups are entrenched.

Benefits are good if not a little pricey, health, dental, 401-K and life insurance are provided to you and your family.

The soul of the company is a good one, but there are absolutely some rotten parts.
Pros

Customs Purchasing/Shipping & Receiving Agent (Former Employee) –  Midwest City, OKMay 31, 2015
I advanced quickly within Century Martial Arts. They assess you talents and make moves based on your strengths. I enjoyed the day to day work. Only left because I moved.

Company is run by megomaniacs and minions
Quality (Former Employee) –  Midwest City, OKNovember 7, 2014
Your placed in a position where its made clear to you that your of no real value, that you can and will likely be replaced at a drop of a hat.

Very little encouragement or positive feedback is given unless it directly affects a specific management person. Your expected to take verbal abuse frequently and expectations are most often unreasonable and far out of reach.

Pay is okay, your unlikely to receive any significant raise (more than $0.10) annual, unless you advance which nearly impossible. The management teams are long term employees that are most often paranoid and prone to inner company business politics, constantly back stabbing one another instead of forward thinking.

Benefits are quite good, health, dental, 401-K and life insurance are provided to you and your family at a reasonable cost. Annual flu shots and mammograms are provided at little to no cost to the employee.
