Certes Networks, a leading provider of multi-layer security and encryption solutions for high-performance networks seeks a highly motivated Business Development Director targeted and focused on the development of business relationships with OEM, Cloud Computing Partners and Value Added Resellers in the California Bay area. Reporting to the SVP of Americas Sales and Business development, this individual contributor role is based in California and does not manage any direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This role requires a highly energetic leader to drive business development through to closure of complex cloud computing and network security solutions.
Target potential partners/customers, qualify and initiate contact, and develop solutions using Certes technology in order to acquire new accounts and business.
Leverage past IT/Cloud sales experience and contacts.
Recruit, manage, and operate a network of partners and resellers within the cloud computing market.
Work with peer groups to ensure that Certes and partners, develop, write, and finalize competitive proposals.
Ensure that Salesforce.com accurately reflects the cloud computing opportunities.
Ensure awareness of and attendance at any related and appropriate market event or tradeshow with a focus of gaining interest and account penetration.
Ensure proper coverage of cloud computing market, making sure that all partners and resellers have a current execution strategy that is reviewed on a frequent basis.
Work with Product Management to ensure the right activity (shows, presentations, branding, lead generation, etc) continually focuses on building pipeline/opportunity.
Education, Special Requirements and Skills:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Advance degree a plus.
7+ years sales and business development experience selling technical, engineering, security products (encryption experience a plus), cloud and/or networking services.
Demonstrate astute business acumen.
Fundamental knowledge of the virtualization platforms (e.g., Citrix, VMWare, Microsoft)
Experience in infrastructure architecture and distributed systems environments (applications, databases, servers, storage).
Understanding of Data Center, Virtualization and Cloud Strategies.
Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism, self-confidence, drive, and commitment with the ability to interact at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet and/or exceed established business development, sales goals and/or quota's.
Excellent opportunity qualification and solution presentation skills.
Proven ability/experience to manage an OEM/reseller/partner network.
Travel up to 30-50%.
Salary and OTE commensurate with experience.
