Great culture and people. Lots of teamwork.
Manager (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSMay 31, 2017
I worked for Ceva Animal Health on the companion animal business unit for almost 5 years. I enjoyed working with the people and for the cause... to promote, sell and service products designed to improve (through science and/or value) animal wellness or disease prevention across multiple product lines.

People at Ceva are smart and dedicated... Helping each other out is part of the culture (solidarity) too.

Management was always very supportive, approachable and helpful.

Reason for leaving was due to family relocation.

I would highly recommend working for this (global) company.
Pros
Great people who are passionate about doing great things together, Leadership is open to suggestions from all levels.
Cons
Job advancement paths vary at times due to high growth

Stressful Environment
Lab Technician (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSJuly 26, 2015
A typical day for me would be taking a 30 min lunch when I was supposed to get an hour and missing out on my breaks regularly, or taking maybe a 5 minute break and going back to get the work done. I was constantly stressed about time, and I would get there before my scheduled time everyday. Some of the work was on the physical side, even in the lab, which is fine except for when you get no breaks and are really hungry.

The most enjoyable part of the job was my immediate co-workers. I wish I could take them out of there and put them in better jobs where the atmosphere is better. However, many others walk around and wont even smile at you. Everyone seems mad or stressed even if they aren't. It's completely normal for the to treat you like they don't like you, even if they do, it's just the atmosphere. The management and team leads however are snakes. Watch out for them, they play favorites. You are told one thing about the way Ceva is supposed to work, but management does whatever they want. They make assumptions on peoples work effort and attitude without even being back there.

Training needs a lot of work. They preach they want all employees to be trained on everything, but only teach a few things and then go back to getting the job done as priority number one. When you say you would like to learn more and become a more valuable employee, it seen as complaining.

You are hardly acknowledged for doing good work, being on time, never calling out sick. When it comes time to get hired on permanently, they hire not based on what you were told by the staffing agency,
more... its who they like more and not after how many hour you put in.

They are growing to fast and it is causing growing pains everywhere throughout the company.

Run fast and not towards them ...
Accounts Payable (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSJanuary 29, 2015
As previously stated, certain manager(s) no matter how incapacitated by either lack of education for position or lack of employee goodwill, will not be terminated. Proven employee work force turnover in last three years are documented.

Most employees seem stressed and overworked.

HR will not listen to documented complaints about managers. Be careful if looking at this company for a long term career.
Pros
Benefits are good. Company tries to intrigue employees to work even harder through picnics etc.
Cons
Product availability problems - Over-worked, stressed employees in all departments.

Run and Run FAST
Territory Manager (Former Employee) –  Summit, NJFebruary 28, 2014
Completely agree with previous reviews including the one below:

"Ceva has several quality sales representatives throughout the US. The flea and tick market is absolutely saturated and it is making the Vectra line extremely difficult to penetrate continued growth with so many obstacles in the market. Ceva will need to restructure the upper management group if they plan on being a major player in the industry."

Leadership (or lack there of) make this company a disappointing place to work. Have consistently micromanaged and over-forcasted sales numbers to parent co. in France, Ceva Sante Animale, consequently, reps are not earning sales commissions they would otherwise make working for industry competitors.

Be sure to ask what the company has done to address turnover / retention seeing how 30+ reps out of 68 have left Ceva in the last 14 months.

Highly recommend looking elsewhere!
Pros
generally speaking the customers are great
Cons
Insurance Premiums are far too expensive, Not enough products including generic delayed launch and global drugs seeking FDA approval.

Co-workers get along well and genuinely like one another
Senior Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Rutherford, NJAugust 22, 2012
Over my 5+ years at Ceva I have come to truly value my co-workers. Animal healthcare attracts caring, warm personalities. My role requires tremendous organization, and the ability to foresee obstacles, and then a plan to get past or avoid the obstacles. I spent 4 years working with the sales team and was extremely happy. In my 5th year I transitioned to HR due to a reorg, so have been learning a bit about benefits, disability laws, etc. while managing the fleet lease program Much of my day is typically spent on email as much of the staff is in the field or at the main office out of state. The hardest part of my job these days is reminding staff I'm no longer in sales and they need to speak to sales about sales. The most enjoyable part of my job is the people I work with.
Pros
the people, close proximity to home, doing something to take care of animals, bagels on fridays
Cons
not seeing the field staff as often as i'd like
