Tier II Technical Support Associate (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMay 14, 2017
This place is a sweat shop, low pay, wack benefits, the environment is rather juvenile. It's run like everyone is on their first job. Lunches must be taken at a specific time, just juvenile. Other companies contract CGS to provide technical support for them. So they may have three separate projects that their employees are working on. Stay focused, and out as soon as your better opportunity comes along.
Pros
you're employed
Cons
low pay, poor-juvenile environment, no advancement, just to get buy job

Was a temp to hire position at CGS to use my skill at a Certified Medical Coder/Biller. Was hoping to be hired to review claims, however a shift in call center management shifted and all current and temp employees were dismissed or left.

CGS was a good company to work for, but local management needs improvement with how they reward employees that have been with the company versus new
Customer Service Advocate I (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXJanuary 10, 2017
The typical work day was busy and challenging. You had to be able to adopt to changes at the last minute. I learned how to manage my time efficiently with a great group of co-workers. The hardest part of the job was adapting to management having certain staff members to do special projects when they had limited experience on the job. The most enjoyable part of the job was when you have assisted a caller and helped them resolve their issues.
Pros
health care and work hours
Cons
Not any

A typical work day at work consist of answering plans for call, assisting team members in administrating technical support to electronic submitters for business contracts, including providers, submitters, and programmers, and assists with end-user account creation, maintenance, and access. The hard part of the job when a system crashes unexpectedly. The most enjoyable part is having team members that are will to assist whenever needed.

Good place to achieve technical skills for your resume but it does not pay much! Beware, you work on a point system and they have a rotating schedule every 6 months.

Work 8 hours a day 5 days out the week. Had weekends and all holidays off. I learned to adjust claims and also sort cases. Management was great they work with you on moving up in the company and also if you need a day off or leave work early they work well with that. Co-workers were great to work and also helpful with the knowledge they had with the position and company. The hardest part of the job was having a bad day and not meeting metrics. Got to listen to music while working throughout was the most enjoyable part of the day.
Pros
got jean passes

Nurse Reviewer III - Work at Home (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TNOctober 20, 2016
Management, coworkers knowledgeable and respectful. You can work at home. It is a good company just a lot of changes at once and the system goes down or "bugs" to the program which make it frustrating.
Pros
Work at home
Cons
Many changes at one time makes problems frustrating due to managers being "spread thin."

CGS does provide comprehensive training to succeed in your work. Management is reliable, some very good managers and some that could use some more personal skills. Work environment is generally pleasant.
Pros
Lunch options are provided by a visiting restaurant (for purchase)
Cons
Strict schedule and attendance policies.

CGS - Not a good place
Appeals Senior Associate (Former Employee) –  Nashville, TNAugust 17, 2016
This company is owned by BC/BS of South Carolina. After a year of buying the company from Cigna Healthcare, they drastically changed. They implemented new policies one day and the next day they started firing people that were measuring up to the new policies put in place. They change what they want at anytime without any notice and you either live with or eventually fall to it.

You will not receive a raise here! ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT IS SLIM. I NEED A MORE PROFESSINAL ENVIROMENT. The company does try to have things for the employees but they can do better than ice cream.
