Pros: work to life balance
Cons: unbalanced work load and back log
Good company, large projects, and a decent amount of opportunity. Company struggles slightly finding it's foot print, but otherwise a great place to work and grow. Work to personal life balance is best I have encountered.

Systems Administrator (Current Employee), Chantilly, VASeptember 23, 2014
Pros: all aspects of a good employer may offer.
Cons: probably just healthcare insurance is not so good, but believe what an employee owned company may offer best at the moment.
CH2MHILL is one of the great employers to work for. There is a good strategy, management, talent, and advancement opportunities and culture in place.

Managers would help employees to move up to next levels, while they care about work/life balance - a very good experience and path for those employees who would later take on such positions.

This review – more... section asks on hardest part of job - there is none, and I guess applies to most other companies, as long as communication process is followed by all team members and higher officials. – less

Unstable company; Going downhill fast
Project Manager (Former Employee), Atlanta, GAJuly 21, 2014
Managers fosters an unhealthy atmosphere of unethical competition. Branded message is not an accurate depiction of the company. They do not care about their employees or work-life balance. They care about sucking clients dry by utilizing the industry's highest rates imaginable.

Biologist (Current Employee), Palm Springs, CAJune 20, 2014
Pros: work is usually outside.
Cons: work is usually in the middle of no where.
A typical day at work would include a preconstruction survey of the construction site and surrounding area for wildlife. Monitor construction activities and conduct periodic wildlife sweeps throughout the day. Relocate wildlife of the work site and halt all construction activities, if biological constraints warrant it. Industrial Engineer (Current Employee), Portland, ORJune 2, 2014
Pros: great projects
Cons: management system
There are no typical days at work here, but that's part of the fascination. I learned to be flexible and to work hard on everything, because even the small projects may be what brings you the bid. My co-workers are very intelligent and great to work with, but the management structure is terrible and constantly re-organizing. The hardest part of the – more... job is managing your manager, but the people you work with and the projects we win are the most rewarding. – less

High Voltage Technician, Lead (Former Employee), South San Jose, CAMay 31, 2014
Pros: an enjoyable project to work on.
Cons: the compensation is below industry rates.
For a maintenance technician, this job is interesting and there is always variation in the work. The management is supportive and easy to work with. The supervisors are exceptional. The customers are outstanding people, and it was a privilege to support their operation.

The management recognizes good work, and gives out small bonuses from time to time.

The – more... most challenging part of the job is solving mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner to keep the process from trending out of spec. – less
