Sales Associate (Former Employee) – New York, NY – June 27, 2014
At work it was very antisocial with the management, lack of communication and treated as as if you aren't important. The co-workers got along well due to the fact that we had many similarities in neighborhoods and culture. The job was actually easy just had to make sales of sneakers and clothing attire to customers, enjoyable part for me is that I love running shoes and I was able to see them all and have an employee discount.
I enjoyed working at Champs Sports due to the working environment being comfortable and relaxed. Made friends easily as well. Not all fun and games though, of course work needed to be done and you needed to bring your A game everyday.
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) – Duluth, GA – September 18, 2017
Working at Champs is a very good learning experience for customer service. It is not a difficult job at all especially if it's your first job. I learned how to manage a store the correct way and how to deal with irate customers.
The customers are great, super chill. The demographics make the job way easier, older cranky customers aren't your common customers. The environment is relaxed but always busy as well. Co-workers are great. The manager sucked but she has been fired.
Store Manager (Former Employee) – Georgia Georgia – September 6, 2017
Hard to be team oriented and move up in this company. If you stand up for your employees, you will be blackballed!! Your opinion doesn't matter if it doesn't line up to what those in higher positions believe. No job security and low pay. Mandatory overtime holiday hours with no guaranteed bonus.
Customer interaction, competitive, discount.
Low pay for hours, no job security, too many hours, shipping and receiving issues, loss prevention.
Very competitive environment, easy place to work. Flexible schedule can be a good and bad thing depending on what you need the job for. It is a great job for a young person/college student with out any bills to pay.
