Love the store in general. The competition made me thrive. Is a fun work place, get along with coworkers well. But hate the customers that come in. Great discounts and the manager is very flexible.

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) –  Duluth, GASeptember 18, 2017
Working at Champs is a very good learning experience for customer service. It is not a difficult job at all especially if it's your first job. I learned how to manage a store the correct way and how to deal with irate customers.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Reno, NVSeptember 13, 2017
The customers are great, super chill. The demographics make the job way easier, older cranky customers aren't your common customers. The environment is relaxed but always busy as well. Co-workers are great. The manager sucked but she has been fired.
Pros
environment
Cons
short breaks

Getting excited with great new product and working with the new wave of fashion and sports.

Jerseys and shoes are still a major trend for the young generation of sport and life.
Pros
Discounts and working in other stores
Cons
No advancement because of favortism and no respect, making your work time a dead end

Champs is a fun place to work it's nice people there but sometimes the management is very poor. You meet a lot of people working there and you experience and learn a lot from working there.

Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Georgia GeorgiaSeptember 6, 2017
Hard to be team oriented and move up in this company. If you stand up for your employees, you will be blackballed!! Your opinion doesn't matter if it doesn't line up to what those in higher positions believe. No job security and low pay. Mandatory overtime holiday hours with no guaranteed bonus.
Pros
Customer interaction, competitive, discount.
Cons
Low pay for hours, no job security, too many hours, shipping and receiving issues, loss prevention.

Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Lawton, OKSeptember 5, 2017
They pay horribly and will not give you raises. They drive you to hit goals and show no real appreciation other than an email saying, hey this store beat all the other stores, hooray for them

Very competitive environment, easy place to work. Flexible schedule can be a good and bad thing depending on what you need the job for. It is a great job for a young person/college student with out any bills to pay.

Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Bronx, NYSeptember 2, 2017
A typical day consisted of sifting old and new merchandise around the stock room. It was a pretty calm setting with enough time to finish tasks, and a group of ambiguous employees.
Pros
discounts on brand name products
Cons
stingy on shifts
