Productive and funwork place
Grant Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAAugust 24, 2012
This is an organisation for self-starters, knowlegeable individuals that can work under pressure with little or no supervision.
I served as the Post Award Liaison between the University, the Principal Investigator (P.I.), and sponsoring agencies. This capacity allowed me to see the Researchers in practice utilizing the funds received to further research in human response to medication or certain treatment and how to abate a particular ailment. It is really fun, encouraging and empowering seeing the outcome of the work done by these researchers.
The organization encourages family empowerment where you are allowed to display pictures and talk about your family or anything that keeps you going.
The hardest part of my job is making the researchers understand that the award is not their money but the organization to whom it was awarded to. They are the brain behind it but the organization will be held liable and accountable for the spending.
Pros
a good place for self-starters, determined professional.
Cons
benefit and remuneration
