Low Pay Good Company
Sales Serv Rep (Former Employee), Smyrna GA – January 26, 2013
Pros: hours/work life balance/ coworkers
Cons: pay
I worked as a customer service sales rep in Smyrna start off pay was low. 12.05 an hour. Commision u can expect would be 200-300 every 2 weeks. So after taxes and benefits expect a 900 dollar check!

Proffit producing company with good ideas, but mainly concerned about sales
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Worcester, MA – January 23, 2013
Pros: they variety of people you work with, they try to make holidays fun, and try to make little contests to incourage a little healthy competition
Cons: you are timed for everything, if you have to go to the bathroom you have to log out of your system, so that it is timed, you have a "matrix" of numbers that they want you to meet, some are either not important or very hard to meet, but they will still talk to you about it if you do not meet them, the attendance policy makes no sense, they would rather have you come in an hour late then as soon as you can get there, i.e. your car breaks down you find a ride and get there in 15 minutes you get black marked for it, they tell you if you would have waited an hour you wouldn't have been black marked
Go in log onto system and take phone calls related to customer issues, billing, sales and service, technician's schedules.

I learned a lot about the local cable company, the services that they offer, and the systems that they use to help their customers

Not a lot of room for growth

Co-workers varied in personality, most were great to work with

Hardest – more... part of job was having to try and sell more services to a customer who was already having problems with their current services.

Helping people, getting customer's services working and providing great customer service to upset customers and being able to turn their attitude around and gain their trust. Finding them the best rates for the services that they have was always a rewarding feeling as well. – less

An excellent place to work
Customer Service Representative /Dispatcher (Former Employee), Marshfield, WI – January 18, 2013
Pros: technology is constantly changing-even in the cable industry
Cons: all customers can't afford upgraded service-but we needed to offer anyway
Answer phones, imput dropbox payments, troubleshoot equipment, ability to probe and correctly identify customer needs and /or concerns about custsomers cable, phone and net services. Learned exceptional sales skills and how to save and upgrade customer services. Great managers and co-workers. The hardest part of the job happened in the winter months – more... when extreme weather hit and all techs had to be in call-and in the summer when utility companys accidently cut fiber optic lines. I enjoyed traveling to different offices for in-service trainings. – less

Charter is a great place to work.
Retention Specialist (Current Employee), Kentwood, MI – January 15, 2013
Pros: free services for employees
Cons: shifts change too frequently.
What I like about Charter the most is having the opportunity to help others. I enjoy the conversations I have with customers and establishing a personal relationship. The business knowledge I need to excel in my current position is everchanging and consistent. I enjoy being a personal business accountant to the customers and the desire to do my job – more... well each and everyday. – less

Highly political environment, incompetent sr. leadership, no defined strategic business plan
Management (Former Employee), St. Louis, MO – January 11, 2013
Pros: free cable services, average benefits package
Cons: lack of diversity, poor communication, no work/life balance unless you call work and no play balance
It is unfortunate senior leadership has failed to develop and communication a clear vision for the business. The new CEO has brought his buddies from Cablevision who have replicated the business model they were familiar with, not what is needed for Charter. There is a lack of respect for employees and absolutely no collaboration between management and – more... employees. Every functional area operates in silos and the management style is by intimidation. – less

They dont pay you for work that you do!
DSR (Current Employee), TN – January 4, 2013
Pros: nothing! was good place to work till they got new ceo and changed pay plan
Cons: everything, pay sucks cause you get sales and they dont pay you for them, you have confrence call at 8;30 pm everynight no time off phone rings at all hrs of night!
The upper management of charter is awfull and they aren't worried about anybody but them self. They tell you to work really hard but at the end of the day they tell you I'm sorry but were not goin to pay you for your work, but keep up the good work and thanks for getting us new coustomers. And I would say they would get no stars on the review but you – more... have to mark something! – less

Broadband Tech Specialists (Former Employee), Louisville, KY – January 3, 2013
Excellent communication skills are a most. While troubleshooting cable and internet phone calls, one most think critically in order to give a detailed short and concise resolution. Work environment is great for the person who likes' sales. There is room to grow in a management position here as while too.
