Instant Checkmate is now supporting an innovative, up-and-coming new nonprofit with a very simple mission, and a far-reaching impact: to motivate and inspire people worldwide to help the homeless in their communities. It's a lofty but doable goal, and it's taking off in San Diego with this Saturday's "I Got Your Back" Backpack Drive.
As one of the largest people-search engines in America, Instant Checkmate is passionate about getting involved and contributing to charitable causes. In December 2012, Instant Checkmate teamed up with San Diego Dream Center to donate warm clothing to San Diego's homeless individuals and families. Last year, Instant Checkmate partnered with Together We Bake, a comprehensive workforce training and personal development program aimed at reintegrating previously incarcerated women into the working world.
Now the people search engine is kickstarting a joint effort with a dynamic father-daughter duo with high hopes of inspiring community involvement through their nonprofit charity, reKindle.
Over the past few weeks, internal donations of backpacks and basic goods were collected. As the organization's first corporate sponsor, Instant Checkmate has donated over 100 backpacks to kick off what will be reKindle's biggest backpack drive to date. This Saturday, the team behind instantcheckmate.com will distribute the donations to homeless individuals in downtown San Diego.
"It's an honor to have Instant Checkmate as the official corporate sponsor of reKindle," says Sean Shahrokhi, Director of Project Management for The Control Group, the web development company behind Instant Checkmate. "There's over 600,00 homeless individuals living in the U.S, and even if it's just a handful of people here in San Diego, we can lend a hand to those who can't always help themselves, while we inspire others to help as well." – less–ZoomInfo
