NCH has been cleaning up for years, and like everyone else, it's been using soaps and detergents to do so. The company makes and sells about 450 chemical, maintenance, repair, and supply products, including all kinds of cleaners, for customers in more than 50 countries throughout the world. NCH markets its products through a direct sales force to companies – more... in the agricultural, home-improvement, industrial, recreational, and utility markets. Other products include fasteners, welding supplies, pet care supplies, plumbing parts, lubricants, and metal-working fluids.

The company's major areas of focus include producing products for the industrial cleaning and maintenance, pet care, plumbing, specialty industries supply, and water treatment and remediation markets.

NCH's cleaning products include hand cleaners, industrial cleaners, and housekeeping supplies. Specialty chemical products, including cleaning and water treatment chemicals, deodorizers, lubricants, paints and paint strippers, patching compounds, and flooring and carpet treatments, account for the majority of sales.

It operates almost 40 separate business units. Subsidiary Supply Line Direct offers safety and maintenance products such as janitorial supplies, safety signs, first aid kits, spills kits, storage cabinets for hazardous chemicals, and protective apparel. Its plumbing products group has plumbing supplies for OEM and retail consumer markets. Other subsidiaries include Pure Solve, a parts washing service, TERRA Services (which reduces hazardous chemicals used in the hydraulic fracturing process), and X-Chem, an oil field services division.

Descendants of founder Milton Levy own the company, which was established in 1919. – less
