******SALARY RANGE $38,000 - $42,000******

The Hazardous Materials Contril Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the customer specified database with up to date MSDS’s that meet all OSHA, plant, and corporate guidelines. This person is also responsible for retrieving MSDS’s for plant personnel when requested, attending all material approval related meetings and taking and distributing notes, and interfacing with key members regularly.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Insures all new submission for products are entered into the system for corporate and plant approval
  • Audits departments to insure compliance with customer guidelines
  • Interacts with people performing approval submissions to insure all documents meet OSHA, corporate, and plant guidelines
  • Maintains plant internal listing of approved products
  • Insures all new information is released that all affected products are noted and the information is provided to the appropriate personnel
  • Manages many searches for various plant personnel in the database
  • Assists in troubleshooting efforts
  • Helps to insure the local MSDS approval committee meets and communicates regularly
  • First point of contact for corporate related items regarding products and/or related items
  • Works with EHS Departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards
  • May perform tasks related to EHS services outside of the MSDS immediate realm of responsibility
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking in large industrial environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens
  • Good phone and interpersonal skills
  • Occasional travel required

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience in chemical/industrial environment preferred
  • Relevant OSHA, EPA, and NIOSH experience is helpful
  • Familiarity with customer Database software used at the facility
  • 0-2 years of technical experience in industrial manufacturing or technical environment preferred
  • Computer proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required
  • Familiarity with software applications.
