To much drama and back stabing
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WAOctober 28, 2017
If you didn't join in on the click then you got treated badly. The management was more into visiting and talking behind co-workers backs then solving any issues.
Pros
Not bad pay
Cons
Management and clicks

Lead-Patient Referral Specialist (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WASeptember 28, 2017
CHI has grown so much and has changed overtime. It really all depends on your career growth and where you see yourself in the future. Great place to work if that is what you are there for.

Deceptive and greedy with unethical leadership
Can't say (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WASeptember 23, 2017
This organization has evolved from a faith-centered, family atmosphere that cared about patient care to a corporation focused primarily on the bottom line. Millions are wasted because someone in senior leadership wants to save a couple bucks in the short run. Managers get no training before being thrust in their roles which leads to sub-par management. The president/CMO only cares about looking good to the national office. Many of the dept directors lie and have horrible attitudes. If you value your happiness and your ethics- do not at FMG.
Pros
Decent benefits
Cons
Unethical, deceptive and greedy

location- gig harbor do discriminate and prejudice
Respiratory Therapist (Former Employee) –  Gig Harbor, WASeptember 22, 2017
The staff don't appreciate people of color.
If you going for a group interview and u are of different color don't bother. I was going to get the job but the staff told the manager I don't have experience and they don't have time to train me(which I do have the experience) but they ended up hiring new student without any experience and they training them for a whole three months. Hopefully this review will make them diverse and hire more people with color.

staff are not diverse

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WASeptember 20, 2017
I felt that when I started at CHI it was a different atmosphere than when I left. The family feel left and corporate America stepped in. It was more about numbers and less about helping patients and employees.

HR + managers = no employee support.
Hospital employee (Former Employee) –  Gig Harbor, WASeptember 7, 2017
The Gig Harbor hospital had extremely poor mgmt in many departments. Complaints to HR were of no help as HR would conspire with Mgr to protect Mgr and hospital at employee and patients expence. For a faith based organization there is way to much lying and deceipt by mgmt with the backing of HR. They really should be ashamed of themselves.
Pros
Good pay, good benefits, nice location.
Cons
Deceiptful and unethical.

Billing Specialist II (Current Employee) –  Tacoma, WA 98405September 1, 2017
They out source everything, people in billing are unprofessional, management does not care, there is a ton of waste in most work processes, and it is less about patient care and more about money. Shocker.

Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Washington StateJune 27, 2017
My peers were great, and we all had the patient population in our best interest. Due to the hospital system being under a Corporate umbrella on the East Coast, communication and transparency was minimal.
Pros
Front Line Staff, Pay & Compensation
Cons
Corporate focused culture

Constant re-bids and layoffs
RN (Former Employee) –  Lakewood, WAJune 4, 2017
Constant restructuring and layoffs. Lack of upward mobility. Low compensation compared to other health systems. Management won't get rid of under performing employees. Lack of proper staffing levels results in bad patient safety practices.

Clinical Informaticist Analyst (Current Employee) –  Tacoma, WAMay 10, 2017
Enjoy the team I work with. Hardest part of the job is the barriers that come with working with a larger national Health institution. Many of the IT services are outsourced, and build has to be converged with markets across the country.

Hospice Services Experiencing Castrophic Problems
Former member (Former Employee) –  Hospice House UP, WAApril 17, 2017
Home Hospice census is exploding, but that creates high patient case loads with very long hours and limited support. Expect to be out in the field on your own in a very short time. Teams can be anywhere in 3 counties so drives times can be extreme. The Hospice House Unit is a disaster; high turnover, extremely stressful job with multiple problems and changes. Extremely poor manager whom directly contributes to the problems. New staff receive limited orientation then expected to deal with multiple problems, admissions, crises, deaths on their own.
Pros
Home Hospice can be fun if you get a good Care Team
Cons
Hospice House is a mess

Culture is changing for the positive
Administrator (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WAApril 16, 2017
Archaic systems and significant turnover at all levels.
IT is a continuous problem and affects the actual care provided to patients on a regular basis. Policies and protocols are outdated and questionable.
People are pleasant but accountability is missing.
Pros
Pleasant people to work with
Cons
Old ways are not working. Accountability is needed.
