Good work environment, no room for advancement
Student Manager (Former Employee), University of Central FloridaSeptember 21, 2014
Pros: good work enviornment
Cons: very low pay
Chick Fil A was a good job for a student. It was on campus and located near the majority of my classrooms. The pay was very low and $0.11 raises were given yearly. Being a student manager I had additional responsibilities which included- training workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures. I also had to assign duties and – more... responsibilities in accordance with company policies. The hardest part of the job was being burned by deep fryers regularly and being covered in grease by the end of a long day. The most enjoyable part of working at Chick Fil A was spending time with my co-workers who quickly became good friends. – less

Not a bad place to work
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Huntsville, ALAugust 24, 2014
Pros: free food, flexible hours, room to move up
Cons: short breaks; pay is respectable, but not enough; no benefits; hard labor
My day begins around 5:30 am, in which I bread chicken most of the morning. I can also do just about anything else in the store as well. The management at this store tries really hard, but are not trained very well for management. I love most, if not all of my co-workers. I get along with just about anybody. The hardest part of the job would have to – more... be that it is a never ending process. Let me explain; It just seems like you will accomplish one task, then you turn around and you have to do that same task again that you just finished 5 minutes ago. The most enjoyable part of the job is when I hear that we did not hold on anything on my end and customers are happy. – less

Pros: friendly work environment. free meals
I learned how to take initiative. I was taught how to close down the store in a timely measure. the hardest part of the job is when something broke. The most enjoyable part of working at Chick Fil A was learning life lessons with friends.

Working at Chick Fil A was a great overall experience.
Cashier (Former Employee), Atlanta, GAJuly 21, 2014
Chick Fil A in the airport was the busiest place I've ever worked at. We was busy from the time I clocked in till the time we closed. I've learned a lot about pacing myself especially since I was handling money. I still had to move in a quick but steady enough pace so I wouldn't give out too much or too little change. My co-workers were very fun to – more... work with. The night shift crew always knew how to make the day entertaining even when it was a busy day. – less

Very busy job with various activities. Constantly on the go.
Team Member (Current Employee), Waco, TXJuly 17, 2014
Pros: food provided after 4.5 hours of work.
Cons: very busy. fast paced.
The company and managers are really great to work for. They really care about their employees.
The job is hard, but satisfying. There is very little stopping. You stay busy from the time you clock in to the time you clock out. But, again, very rewarding. There are different activities to do in a day. One minute you're cleaning the dining room, the next – more... you're making sandwiches. Very fast paced. But it's a great place to work. – less

cook,cashier (Former Employee), Richmond, VAJune 29, 2014
Pros: if you needed overtime you could get it
Cons: germy place, some not working as hard as you need them to, getting snowed in
typical day would be seeing doctors who worked 16 hours and all they want is a sandwhich I could make that will make there day. And normally it would be packed.
I learned how to work the register
the management treated everyone the same they didn't act like they was bigger than us.
the hardiest part of the job was going on the elevators with a big cart – more... going to get food over and over from the freezer and the elevator is packed or broke so you have to share them and wait long
the best part about the job was making doctors day or just putting smiles on there face and having there hot waffle fries ready. – less

Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee), Hoover, ALMay 30, 2014
Pros: great work enviroment, safe
Cons: many workers fewer hours
Typical day at work was busy, I learned how to work smart and time efficiently. Management was great at making sure the workplace was doing what it should do and that is serve. Co-workers for the most part were helpful in getting new team members up to speed. Hardest part would be when there were periods of work that weren't busy, but that was rare. – more...
