Program Coordinator, St.Louis Missouri - May 15, 2013
A typical work day can be fun or it can be rough. It all depends on the situation. When dealing with at risk youth, you run into sad stories but you also hear about stories of success. I've learned that you can't wear your emotions on your sleeve when working with people. No matter how you feel inside you have to be professional at all times. I enjoy managing people because what you're really doing is helping them become better not only with their job, but as a person. I enjoy many of my co-workers. We are able to communicate well and we see eye to eye on alot of things and when we disagree we can agree to disagree and be okay with it. To be honest I try to avoid those co-workers who have hidden agenda's and have ideas that are not of what the agency is about. We are a team and when someone tries to seperate from the team, it takes away from our goals and it takes away from the positive energy. I enjoy our staff meetings because it's a chance for all of us to share our opinions and views on different issues or situations. It allows us to get feedback from our peers. They're always fun and I always leave with something positive.
