Not the best working enviroment
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Baltimore, MD – May 18, 2013
Pros: near my school.
Cons: unprofessional, weird hours.
This job was not the best place to work. The hours I was given were not constant and very strange. I would come in to work for only an hour sometime. The mangers and co-workers are not professional.

Bad experience for a potentially wonderful company
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Columbus, MS – May 7, 2013
Pros: none.
Cons: no hours, poor management, little to no training for the job required, not many customers to wait on
I went through a week of filling out paperwork for my seasonal "employment" at Children's Place and only worked one day there. After letting them know I needed more of a steady work shift, I was informed that "seasonal employees" didn't work much. To my knowledge, however, any of the other employees were getting at least 10 to 12 hours a week. I quit – more... that day. – less

Cool second job
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Omaha, NE – April 25, 2013
Cons: call-ins
Easy job, co-workers are cool. I didn't like the fact that when I wanted hours, they never gave them and when I had things to do, I was scheduled non-stop. There was no balance.

Productive and fun workplace
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Woodbridge, NJ – March 4, 2013
Pros: work around the hours i can work
Cons: not many hours
A typical day at The Childrens Place is being surrounded by many customers and co workers. Helping customers find what they need and even helping them put together outfits for their kid(s). My co-workers are good. We all work together as a team. They are helpful to each other even to the customers. I can't say what the hardest part of the job is because – more... honestly I do not feel there is a hard part working at TCP. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to know the customers because u meet so many different people with different cultures compared to mine – less

Very enjoyable working environment with lots of busy work as well.
Sales Assistant (Current Employee), Michigan City, IN – January 21, 2013
Working for The Children's Place has been a great experience for me. I get along very well with my co-workers and managers; we work together as a team to reach daily goals. Starting work around 12 P.M, three or four times a week, I usually welcome customers when they first walk into the store with a big smile, friendly greeting and inform them on the – more... day's promotions. In between greeting customers, I make sure the section of the store that I am in charge of is well maintained and I also work the cash register. I am entitled to a thirty minute break daily, however, working only five to six hours a day, I usually do not take a break. Working at The Children's Place has brought on many new experiences. I have learned how to work together with the other employees to reach daily goals. I have learned how to be patient with elderly shoppers and also I have learned how to cross-sell. I enjoy working with The Children's Place staff members. They are all very helpful and they have never made me feel intimidated or afraid to ask questions. The hardest part of the job, as of any job, is working on the slow days, when sales are low, and trying to stay busy. My job is to greet, straighten the store and work the cash register, but when in store traffic is low, cleaning the store gets done much faster, there are not many people to greet and there is not much ringing up at the cash register. The most enjoyable part about working at The Children's Place is working with a group of people that has allowed me grow mentally, make mistakes and not be penalized terribly, and being able to bring joy to the environment without being terminated. – less

Never a dull moment working here
Seasonal Sales Associate (Current Employee), Clarksville, Tn – December 28, 2012
Pros: 30% employee discount and co workers are friendly
Cons: not enough hours to go around fo staff
Working at the Children's Place was a great experience. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and was willing to help me out when I needed it. The only bad thing is that there are too many people on staff and there are not enough hours to go around.

An easy going job
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Dubuque, IA – December 22, 2012
Pros: the hours are reasonable.
Cons: no benefits for part time help
A typical day is very easy going. Customers are friendly and the co-workers are great to work with. I've learned how to closing process of the store along with the opening process. How to close out the registers, and to fill out the deposit. I wouldn't say there is a hard part to the job. The workload isn't to overwhelming and the customers are friendly – more... and enjoyable to help. – less
