This agency no longer serves adults with ID/DD
SCL Case Manager (Former Employee), Somerset, KYApril 1, 2014
This agency was excellent for providing services for individuals with ID/DD. This agency was less excellent for maintaining staff, providing opportunities for advancement, and maintaining working relationships with other agencies. In 2007, Christian Care Communities sold its adult ID/DD program to the highest-bidding agency. Very little incentive was – more... provided to the staff who wished to remain with the parent company. – less

AWFUL PLACE TO WORK
cna (Former Employee), Hopkinsville, KyMarch 28, 2014
Pros: patients
Cons: staff
Was hired along with some other people and we quit within a month. They were so short staffed that we never had a chance to complete orientation on the floor. The employees and nurses are rude and disrespectful. Don't bother reporting it cause it does absolutely NO GOOD.. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY...NOTHING CHRISTIAN OR CARING ABOUT IT...YOU'VE – more... BEEN WARNED!!!! – less

LPN Charge Nurse (Current Employee), Corbin, KYSeptember 14, 2013
Pros: get to work with great people.
Cons: long hours and short breaks
I am the only nurse on my floor and shift. I take care of 58-61 patients. I perform phlebotomy, accu checks and give insulin for diabetics , start IV's, give medications, get and follow doctors orders, care for 9 G-Tubes, charting for all assigned, follow up on doctors orders for that day, take care of all emergencies and supervise and direct nursing – more... aides. I encourage a CAN do attitude and work together as a team. I perform CNA's job when needed. Patient care comes first and for most before paperwork.
Time management is a big part of my job. I have learned to organize and manage my time with all of my duties to benefit my patient's assigned.
I enjoy and blessed to take care of the older generation. Working with the elderly can be fun and interesting. I enjoy hearing stories they offer. I consider all of them my extended family. – less

House Keeping (Current Employee), Louisville, KYAugust 10, 2013
Pros: the people are really nice.
Cons: pay for lunches, pay rate is low.
Something that i have learned on the job are my strenghts and skills. I realize that i work really well with team work or independently. I'm really good at problem solving. My boss and my co-workers chose me to be team leader over the housekeeping department. I turned it down because i felt like i wasn't ready and i would rather have training first. – more... The resident's and employees make my day enjoyable. I need a job with more pay i live alone and attend college. – less

Food Server (Former Employee), Bowling Green, KYAugust 2, 2013
Pros: free lunches
Cons: short breaks were paid
I work 3-4 days in a week, and every second Saturday and Sunday. At this job I experienced a lot of different job requirements; but at most important part of the job was, working with residents - serving them. On my first day, when I started to work with Christian Care Communities, everyone in dietary department helped me everything I needed, especially – more... my Assistant Manager who began my friend out of work. I also had good communication with Dietary Manager. I loved everything about this job, so I'm hoping to find something alike to Christian Care Communities Residents Home.

OR

Retail Store ~ TJ Maxx

At TJX, I have 3 years of experience.......I usually worked about 4-5 days in a week. I learned how to processed shoes, purses, merchandise. Also....I experienced working in fitting room including to greet all costumers with smile and following job policy( counting how many merchandise costumer has)- before they come in and when they come out. I had lots of fun with all employees; I had good communication with them, as well with manager. However, I enjoyed all parts of job even unloading truck....except when we had big orders about 1,000 pieces; it makes me feel tired.
I left this job when my aunt came to store as a Assistant Manager. – less

C.N.A (Former Employee), christian health centerJuly 29, 2013
Pros: nice residents
Cons: point system
wasnt a bad place to work. they just didnt have your supplies when you arrivied in morning cant give baths if you dont have towels and washclothes to work with. And the dietary department not friendly at all, the poor residents never got what they ordered that department could never get it right. The POINT SYSTEM needs to go alot of good hard workers – more... have lost their job from it! – less

Good place to work and good people to serve and work with.
Bowling Green (Former Employee), Bowling GreenApril 17, 2013
If you don't enjoy the healthcare environment and working with seniors, this is not the place for you. Most LTC facilities are stressful - and this one can be too - but this facility cares. They are constantly doing fun stuff for the staff and trying to offer programs and benefits with their wellness committee and fun committee etc. There are opportunities – more... to be involved if folks would only take advantage of them. And they truly care about the residents.

Good place. – less

What's so Christian about this place?
Cna (Current Employee), Louisville kyMarch 24, 2013
Pros: close to downtown
Cons: management shows favoritism to employees, combative residents, constant low census, no raises!
Unappreciated Cna staff. Overworked & underpaid. Management talks to employees like they are children. We used to get rewards for picking up shifts, they are snatching our incentives. Cnas no longer get annual raises. Every shift is short, agency is never called to help. Stupid point system and outrageous turnover rate.

It is a job that you bust your butt at and no matter where you go, you will probably never get paid enough or get enough credit for. You really have to have a passion for this kind of job in order to make it.
